Handling of crossover-theories in WMG

First of all, I want to point out that there was a Special Effort thread that sort-of touched on this. But since this "style guideline" seems to have been dead for years, very few WMG-pages actually seem to follow it, and also since I personally wouldn't agree with the categories specified over there, I wanted to start a new discussion on this.

So, to the point. WMG is still swamped with crossover theories to a ridiculous degree. Most of them are one-liners with hardly any explanation, and are based on "it's the same actor", "it's the same broad geographical location", "those names sound similar" or "screw it, I just want to mention Doctor Who".

What provoked the necessary ire for me to start this thread was seeing the Hunger Games WMG. 49 of 130 entries (yes, I counted) are crossovers. That's over a third. And I didn't even include what I would call meta theories (such as regarding author intent, studio policy, casting etc.). I don't have anything against using the wiki for them per se, but I am personally completely uninterested in them, and judging by other comments on this fact I might not be entirely alone. So I would prefer to, generally, not see them interspersed with the - let's call them "diegetic" - WMGs.

Now, I am well aware that I could actually just do that re-sorting myself. I did it back when the ASoIaF-WMG got too long, and did not only split it but chucked all the crossover stuff to it's own page. But since I see this as a (if low-level) endemic problem on the wiki, and it's not like I care for the Hunger Games WMG in particular that much, I thought it might be worth having another go at a discussion here and maybe brainstorm for a general guideline as to what to do with those entries.

And finally, a few weeks back there was a similar discussion regarding the sorting into "Jossed" and "Confirmed" categories, so maybe check that out also.
