Basically, the name is too close to Ridiculous Exchange Rates, causing the two to get conflated together despite referring to reasonably separate things (i.e. differences in the actual worth of currency vs. differences in the nominal amounts of currency).
I'm not sure if anyone addressed this when Ridiculous Exchange Rates was first renamed, since I can't find the original thread.
