Does anyone here currently play, had finished the game of finished it up to completion? I need a completed and proper Monster and Item Encyclopedia information for the wiki. There's a lot to do here, especially the articles and I'd appreciate help. Though I kinda like doing it on my own, too/

I haven't even finished proper race classes and descriptions yet, save for fairy which is partially finished. The ones I left in there are a year old, when I first started.

If not, here is a basic explanation over what the game is about.

Elminage Gothic is a first-person, Wizardly-like turn-based game that requires you to trek dungeons, solve puzzles, variety of dungeons, complete sidequests aside from the main story, and solve the mystery of the recent outbreak of monsters.

It uses the THAC0, which is basically AC (or the Armor Class) being lesser the more advantage a character will have in battle. There is an aging system and permadeath towards traps and dying over its lifespan, and variation of race-specific lifespans. Recruiting monsters are possible, too!

The artwork is great, and based on Western art. The enemies are detailed, even the resistance rates which makes a whole lotta sense. There's a chance of being K Od by beheading, and Slimes are immune to that!

There are nine races which you can use as party members, eight of which are creatable. Humans are the most versatile and dominant of the races, having well-balanced and distributed stats for most classes — dying at age sixty. They do not have any special resistances whatsoever, except being the Jack of All Trades master of none.

Werebeasts are werewolves which aren't capable of equipping silver weapons, and have a chance of inflicting poison towards enemies. They live up to 60 years. Dragonewts live up to 300 years old and can breathe fire, which can hit rows of enemies, even ghosts which is normally unhittable except when weapons blessed with a spell, upgraded with alchemy and with mage spells. Devilish races are recruited enemies that aren't fit with any of the in-game races.

Fairies are small and can't equip heavy weapons, but they have an above average amount of luck, high agility and above average stats compared to the others — the trade off is living only up to 30 years, alongside low HP and STR.

Elves have a high Intelligence, Piety (for healing spells), slightly above average agility and live up to 200 years, but they have low vitality and hp.

Dwarves have high Vitality, HP..oh god, I'm rambling. Point is, I like the game so much, the maps and puzzles being really challenging. The classes have a lot of variety, and lots of ways to make a party.

There's a lot to say about the classes, too, and I'm a bit too tired out to elaborate at the moment. x_x

Oh hey, Tomato made a Elminage Gothic thread.

I am only a ways in, on the second "main" quest and a floor into the second dungeon, but it's a lot of fun.

Tough though. Very tough.

You were asleep! I would have told you first, but I got excited. >_<

Yup! It is very tough! But not too tough. One of the things that I did (and kept doing whenever I make a new character) is to go to the dungeon, forgetting to wear any equipments. I made six characters, all of them having 8 HP and then I very much remember my first experience is being killed by a freaking spore. Granted they can keep respawning endlessly.

It doesn't get much spells at first, either and the characters only have 9 SP max per spell level, and it starts with...one, I think? -_- I kept missing, too, though it's due to having too high Armor Class and the weapons with low accuracy.

What exactly made the game tough for you, anyway? How far are you there?

I got to the second floor of the limestone cave, and got the quests to go to the fairy tree place. Gotta smash some Goblins and find something for the old guy.

Also, I need to get a macguffin for some rich lady at the tavern.

So I can either keep exploring the limestone cave, or go to the fairy tree.

What's tough about it? Well, healing is sparse (the first healing spell and it's equivelent potion become effectively useless by the end of the first dungeon) and the enemies are pretty durable and starting from the limestone cave, get mean, with stuff like countering, Bracing, and ranged weapons.

...Bracing being "if hit will a killing blow, survives with one hp". Annoying.

Oh, that disappearance of the kidnapped children quest. It's at the basement, not on top so no need to explore that much. The fiend, Neck Chopper's tough so you have to be careful. It would be helpful if you have an alchemist in the team so you can flee from them properly.

There's tough three enemies there, a colorful red fish and two huge hammersharks which are way too overpowered.

The "Mac Guffin" in the Guatella Grotto's tough, you'd have to make a mermaid stone, hopefully a bunch of it to survive long enough. One purity is good for one minute, I haven't done it yet. If you have the teleport spell (it's a level 9 skill), you'd be ready enough. The flee alchemist spell will help you since time is money here.

Weird fact, fire breathe isn't weak against water enemies. o-o

That annoyance will save you in the future. I suggest that you just need to git gud. :p

What's your team like, again? o-o Mine was two mages, two clerics, one fighter and a servant at first. Not in that order. Order was one dwarf fighter, dragonewt servant (for the breath skill), werewolf cleric, gnome cleri, dragonewt mage and elf mage. Until I started caring over treasures and removed the elf mage for a werewolf alchemist. I like the item encyclopedia too much. >_>

I currently have two Fighters (a Dragonewt and a Dwarf), a Brawler (a werebeast), a Cleric (obligatory Human), a Servant/Herbalist (Gnome), and a Mage (Elf).

I forgot what level I'm at. Around 10ish?

EDIT: I technically have a Ninja Devilish via sidequest too.tongue

Oh, you have Mysterious C?!? Gonna use him in the team? He has good skills!

What do you plan turning them into? Bard (which has Tarot spells as well as retaining all the mage spells) or Samurai (which has counterattack and retains mage spells) too?

Bishop has both mage and cleric spells and Divination (identifying items) they might be effective as one, save for the slow leveling. I'm not sure what Shaman does, much, it doesn't learn spells but it has oracle.

Your spells either turn into 3s after maxing a level up, or a 9 if the class retains it.

I tend to class-change when I get high enough HP, you retain the HP learned, plus your EXP resets so you're back to leveling fast. Just remember to reequip suitable items.

There's a cleric spell that decreases the entire party's AC in the dungeon! It doesn't fade with battles! You'd need it if you class-change.

Ninja can disarm traps and has a chance of beheading enemies! :D

I'm not so sure over what Shaman does.

I have a Skunk Girl named Soap and one named Lyle, who I'm not sure if I'd turn into Alchemist and Samurai. I have two other Skunk Girls too, then a Mermaid Queen.

They're all fighters. Did you know Devilish races live up to 150 years?

I'd need someone to upgrade weapons too and remove all its restrictions, considering Skunk Girl has the send items to the warehouse for extra items skills, it's really useful.

Well, I dunno. I think my Mage can become at least a Valkyrie last I checked. My Cleric can become a lot of stuff, so maybe I can change him?

Should I wait until I get all of their Mage/Cleric spells, or change right away?

I'd use the Mysterious C(hild), but I am really picky and stubborn about my party, and I don't like ditching people. ^^;;

If I were you, I'd wait. But it depends how soon you want to get to another class.

By then, as long as you have all the required stats if you do decide to class-change them you won't have to relearn all the spells but just grind to keep up with the others. You lose all the increased stats, but only retain the level and I think the skills? Not sure over retaining skills or not keeping it.

Unless if you change into a class that doesn't have the spells you already have. You learn new spells, but have a fraction of the old number of it. Basically, number of spells greater than 3 would have 3, less than three would have none.

Oh. A neutral mage. Lucky! A spiral spear has good stats and is effective against gods too, and it's exclusive to Valkyries. Take in mind, it will learn Cleric spells not Mage, but hot damn. Mage at the back can still hit enemies.

(I'm typing this half-drowsy.)

I understand the attachment. But it was really hard when my party died and had trouble retrieving their dead bodies back... :/

You wouldn't know which might be permadead, so having emergency backups being trained might be good. But you can prevent it by saving often?

Oh, right! You can have as many parties as you want exploring the dungeon! By choosing "Pause Adventure", you can either get another party to pick them up or grind someone else if you want to train a different team altogether.

Then you can resume adventure with the other party if you want to do it again.

Tip: Save before you revive a character. Simply reload if they turn into ash. Ash adds two years, while dying adds one. :(

Okay, it's Eliminage Gothic, not Elminage. :/

Hrm. Does class changing also reset my stats?

That seems kinda weird if so, since every class has a stat requirement as it is.

I'll check what I can make when I load up the game. My nets are being shit.

Back up party? Well, that is an idea...

Also, the rest of my units are Good, is that bad?

Well, future levels will probably ruin this, but currently:

My Servant can become a Cleric.

My Brawler can become a Fighter, Mage, Cleric, or Servant.

Both Fighters can become a Brawler

My Mage has since lost Valkyrie, but can become a Fighter, a Thief, or a Alchemist (yes, the Elf Mage has enough strength for Fighter, who knew?)

My Cleric can be...a Mage, a Bard, a Summoner, a Alchemist, and a Servant. Phew.

Yeah. Class changing resets it but you can learn it right back up with leveling.

Good isn't bad. The only thing that you can make with Evil-exclusive is Ninja. Thief had to be either evil or good. Valkryie is the only Neutral exclusive, too. Ironically enough, no good exclusive class, though there is good and evil.

My internet is being shitty too, it's alright. You can always play it whenever you want.

At a certain point, you can class-change to whatever you want.

Your brawler and mage is good. o-o My Dragonewt has too high attack, too. I never stuck around to keep a brawler, though for awhile I had a summoner cause I wanna hire monsters. Suck it didn't do anything. :/

You had a Valkyrie?

I'm at the Royal Tomb, though quest told me to go to the Ishmag Basement. It's a sealed area, with an altar to protect the seal, but then the people of the kingdom complained over hearing ominous voices.

There was an unlimited spawn coffin there! Filled with creepy spiders with multiple heads, but brown! Brown! :D

Edit: Now spawned Ghost Kimono men and ghosts! :D

Arob kept killing me at first. Felt glorious now that I can kill him in one hit. >:) I have to make an Arob page, huh.

Oh, that sucks. It's gonna even out in a few levels! Turns out it wasn't a year over being admin, but just five months. Felt like it was just yesterday they were level 8, now they're in the hundred mark, save for Soap the Skunk Girl, which is 20.

Only reason I'm overpowered is due to being stuck in the damn Igdra Underground Church, which is filled with teleport.

Due to the magic adventures in the Tree of hidden doors that I have not yet found, my Servant and Mage leveled up.

Servant can now become a Bard as well as a Cleric.

Mage lost Alchemist, but can now become a Hunter.

Choices, choices

Teleport maze sounds fun, but probably fairer than hidden doors.

Teleport mazes is not fair. There's no mark over teleport spots at all, so you have to remember it yourself. Granted maps wouldn't note what hidden doors look like, but at least it doesn't look like dead-ends. :(

Don't worry over class-changing yet, but think of what you wanna specialize in. The only true magic knight is Samurai. Magic Archer is Alchemist turned Hunter, retaining all Alchemist spells. Hunters can use swords too. Bard is no magic warrior. My Courtesan bard uses Kunai. :p Lord is Paladin.

I have to fix the enemy pages first. Ruined the format by not copy pasting properly. x_x

...OK that is pretty bad. Teleporting and you don't know where it is. I take that back. ._.

I'll keep that in mind. Samurai, Lord, and Hunter seem like the things I should aim for, but class changing is no biggy.

Though I am amused that my Mage, who sits around doing nothing a lot of the time (gotta conserve that magic) is the one who gets all the diverse options. I still can't believe she could be Fighter.

I find it interesting, too. All my elves aren't combat specialists.

Oh, did you know Servants and Alchemists can learn the Divination spells, too?

Before my EG main laptop charger went out, there was this blonde elf who'd beg to be taken with us while chained in the Ishmag Underground Prison thingy.

Her name is Layer, and she casts spells to lower her party members AC!

Then, if I attempt to bring her up, she'd say she can't leave. The basement's all bloody, and I think, based on what the prison guard said, a vengeful cultist's spirit. Or not.

Made me chilly.

Edit: I double-checked, and the official guide said Divination gives out spell resistance and ore purity. Beginner walkthrough guide got it wrong. >:(

It's not magic. It's determining the ore level, whether the item is cursed, and what are its item stats are without going to the Item Encyclopedia.

I uploaded this for the wiki. I love the melody! :D (Though I should have used the beheading of Uhlm Zakir, instead of worshipping the dark god, Cyclanos.)

I don't know, I wasn't able to open it either except just now.

Finished Uhlm Zakir again after losing the file. Again. XD So I'm back at the Royal Tomb.

Oh, I read the RACE.csv, and different enemy races have differing lifespans. Chimeric, Undead, Elemental, Insect, Animal, Ghost, Devil, Dragon, Fighter, Mage, Cleric, Thief, Beast, Giant and God races live up to 999 years.

Dolls 100, Ogres 60, Goblins 40 and Devilish 400. I have no idea what the difference between Devilish and Devil, nor if I'm correct. ._.
