Gonna need a clip to pass judgement.
"We be we baby!"I (vaguely) remember that show and remember at least one sad story: the one where that dog gets killed by a pack of wolves protecting her family. Personally, i sort of see it as a precursor for "Adventures from the Book of Virtues".
They weren't all sad stories. Their version of the Three Little Pigs had all three of them survive, whereas a "sad" adaptation would have killed off the first two.
Edit: That said, it was still a bit dark in that the pigs, when they heard the wolf on the roof, deliberately set him up for a boiling.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."It's funny that a thread for this show got bumped because this show's theme song still gets stuck in my head to this very day even though I haven't seen it since I was five and I barely even remember watching it.
It's really no surprise that it's still stuck in my head after all these years, it's pretty catchy.

"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."Huh. the French credits used a different tune.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."
Anyone remember this French/Canadian cartoon? It was briefly on Nick Jr. Is it just me, or were those stories (while quite good) often horribly sad?
One was about an ant getting her leg caught in a frozen puddle and pleading with the water, who passes the buck onto the clouds, etc. She freezes to death. Way more depressing than typical Nick fare.
