"What are we doing here, Os? I love turning koopas to road kill as much as the next guy, but we can't take that castle on our own." Kalois said, sitting on his kart.

"I...frankly don't wanna die today either." Oswald admitted as he cleared his throat, "But as much as I hate to say this-and I mean really, really hate to say it, we're not doing much of any good with just taking out a few Koopas."
"Alright. I assume you have a plan, then.", Kalois said.
Swashbuckler
"If I didn't, this would be a slaughter..." Oswald mumbled before clearing his throat, "Yes, I do have a plan. Though I'm gonna tell you now, it's a pretty bad plan..."

Andy jumped off of the cart and crouched while peering at the castle. "You're thinking we wait till they change patrols?"

"Well, when you say it like that, you make it sound so sensible." Oswald nodded, "Bet yes, that's ultimately the plan."

"Then what? As soon as we start making noise we'll be drowning in koopas."

"When they start to change shifts, we'll have 30 seconds of nothing. That's when those getting on duty will prepare and those off duty will start to get ready. We'll be able to cause enough chaos to disrupt the order. Then...in theory, we'll be able to overcome their numbers." Oswald said, "If all else fails, we make this a hit and run."
"That is a bad plan.", Kalois said, though he was clearly willing to follow through.

"Well, with the uproar we've been causing, we're going to get their attention sooner then later." Oswald told him.

"Yeah and plus we aren't dead yet, so we must be doing something right. That or we're the luckiest idiots alive. I like my odds either way."

Kalois sat down in the seat of his kart, leaned back, closed his eyes, and said "Wake me when it's time to attack."

"That'll be in the next five minutes..." Oswald said.
Just as Oswald predicted, the Koopas standing guard all began to retreat into the castle. They would start to change shifts, which was the team's opening.

Andy hopped onto the back of the cart and said, "That'll be our cue then?"

Oswald nodded, charging a shot in his arm cannon, "You ready?"
Kalois turned the key. "Do you really need to ask?" he said with a smirk.

"Ready whenever you are old man. Personally, I'm ready to get in there and escape with as much treasure as I can carry."

"How noble." Oswald rolled his eyes once the last of the Koopa Troop returned to the castle. He ran from his hiding spot, firing his shot inside the castle. An explosion was heard once it hit something as the confused Koopas would be in too big a tizzy to understand what was happening.

Kalois floored the gas with a Taylor Swift expy blaring through the radio. Within seconds he was through the castle's front door. He hunted down every Koopa he saw, picking them off one by one.

(He'd be getting through the front door since it's pretty much open. And...car fu? He could just run over scrambling Koopas.)
The Mushroom Kingdom. A name that nobody has heard in a long, long time. It wasn't a kingdom, it was a wasteland. The grass that was once lush and green was now burned and left nothing but dirt and rock. The power-ups that use to be common and extravagant were all gone, nothing left but shattered blocks across the ground.
The sun was down, the moon high in the air as the full moon's light shined down on the decayed castle in the distance. The once proud Toadstool Castle was nothing but a war fortress now, the flag of the Koopa Empire flowing proudly as Koopa Troops marched. There were Koopa sitting on the roof, armed with Bullet Bill canons, and the castle had even more canons.
"Guess that's a good spot for a Tyrant Troop..." mumbled Oswals, the man clutching his shirt as he stared at the castle up from his perch on the cliff side, out of sigh of the enemies that would swarm and kill him.
