Interestingly picked indeed. Two Smash Bros. games, neither of which is Project M, and the absence of... well, several fighting games that I thought would outprioritize some of these. I would think that BBCP would outprioritize Ultimax, for example.

Guess which one's newer and wasn't actually at EVO before. Also Guilty Gear probably shot BB's chances regardless of Persona's involvement, not to mention Persona has a wide fanbase of people outside of the FGC.

Didn't Nintendo release a statement a while back that was basically a roundabout way of acknowledging Project M and letting it continue to exist?

Yeah, but that all goes out the window once sponsorship and partnership come into play. If Project M were on the main stage that would result in a ton of legal trouble. Not to say Nintendo couldn't let things slide with a side tournament, but it had no chance of getting on the main stage.

I question some of the logic behind some of these game choices, especially regarding Tekken 7 and MKX. Neither of those games are gonna have very good players by the time Evo comes around because the games will only have been out for a couple months or so (and it'll be even worse for Tekken, as only people in Japan will probably be able to get their hands on the game before Evi, and I doubt many of them will take the time to go to Vegas for Evo). Reminds me a lot of what happened when Injustice had its first Evo.
