Holy shit! A 2DS that can fucking fold!
I wanted the original 2DS, but was turned off on its lack of folding, but now this looks good.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo long as Treehouse Live is still a thing, I'm cool with it. Honestly, I think a part of me prefers the almost casual nature of Treehouse Live to the conferences. We can still get epic and hilarious stuff with the preceding Direct, after all.
I wonder if Kimishima will play a part in the pre-E3 Direct.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The New 2DS XL looks neat.
Can't say that I want it a lot, but it looks neat.
Edit: Trying to list all the differences between the N 2 DSXL with the N 3 DSXL, cuz I have that particular one next to me right now.
-Speakers seem to have moved to the very bottom. -Volume slider is moved to the bottom half on the left, like i remember the 3DSXL having. -Home button is moved to below the D-pad -Camera and mic are moved to the middle hinge. Speaking of the middle hinge, the ends are a quite a bit closer to each other. -Stylus slot and headphone jack are right next to each other, right underneath the bottom screen. -Card slot has a cover. -No 3D slider.

Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Personally, I actually like the Direct + Treehouse Live method better than just having a presenation and nothing else.
I'd wager the Nintendo Switch live conference also probably reinforced their position that 'live' probably not their forte.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThey also would have time to script the translations for japanese devs instead of a translator having bouts of mumbling trying to decipher what is happening.
I don't know the whole point of releasing a new 2DS since the Switch is out in stores (In a sense). But then again, if the PS 2 was apparently being sold despite everybody going to the PS 3, and Persona 5's PS 3 port wasn't canceled despite the fact that people stopped paying attention to the PS 3 a long time ago, I guess anything's possible.
(Heck, I just heard a game was being made on a physical SNES cartridge so make of that if you will.)
They want to support it more, because it still sells very well.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Switch is for "big games", and 3DS is for "small games." Simple as that.
You may think that phones are eating the latter market (trust me, I did for a time), but it's still selling well, apparently.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. That was a cause for concern back when smartphones started to grow around 2010-ish. Now though, it's clear that smartphones and other such mobile devices tap into a different market than dedicated protable consoles, and they don't really compete with each other directly.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Not that it will stop companies like Square Enix and Rockstar from trying, though.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Possible Direct incoming?
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."On one hand, people are jumping the gun as usual. On the other, we're overdue for an Animal Crossing Direct, ARMS needs a Direct, and if Stars is real that'll likely get a Direct.
Which is damn shame. Games like Bully or the early 3D GTA trilogy on the 3DS would be pretty sweet.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."My guess is Pokemon or ARMS, though it may be too soon for the latter since the recent one was focused on Splatoon and ARMS
No we're not (for Animal Crossing), Splatoon shares its team. It's most likely not in development.
Animal Crossing Mobile is due to be revealed any time now.
Oh, you meant that.
That would certainly qualify to reveal right now.
I disagree on ARMS (got enough spotlight in the previous Direct) and Stars (E3), however. Both possible, but not likely.

Pokemon won't be revealed at E3. It always gets its own spotlight.
We're still missing a lot on ARMS (hopefully). The Splatoon Direct cemented a lot of the game's core features, and ARMS needs something similar. E3 will be too late for a big marketing push.
Pokemon does its own thing, but it typically does its own thing right before E3 and not in a Nintendo Direct.
And the ARMS content we know about seems to match up with the first entry in a fighting game series. Maybe a story mode.

List of Pokemon main series and their remakes reveal days.◊ Never E3, unless it was a spin-off.
If it is Stars, it will happen within the next couple of weeks as Coro Coro Magazine leaks late next week.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."X/Y and Sun/Moon both had Directs for their reveal. The first Pokemon for Switch will likely have one too.
