Well, I have been wondering for curiosity's sake just where we were planning to start. From what I've gathered, it seems like all of the characters are ushered into 'character generation' pods, where they're presumably outfitted with any desired nanites and implants, and allowed to customize the armor they'll be using. Is that all correct, and will we be starting right after stepping out of said pods, or will we all have had time to get some practice in with our various armors and get to know each other before we start? For that matter, are we assuming that each character arrived individually, or were they already wandering the wastes together on say, some sort of exploration/salvage mission? Not that I'm suggesting we'd all be friends right out of the gate, mind.
January 10th is our start date and as for everyone being rushed into the pods. Dr. O has his own plans and just offered everyone intense powered armor for helping him, but the rushing has reason.
And yes everyone arrived individually.
Just a few days left then.
Roll call?

It's just first impressions, but I do like the way Lucinda talks. It seems very 'proud and noble warrior-ish'.
I'm glad you like it Daecion! In universe, Lucinda was trained from birth in a roughly military life style in the village her family founded. Her parents did their best to educate her in what she'd need to survive and the bits and pieces of lore and tradition they could salvage data off.
Her father in particular looked a bit at different codes of honor and tradition and adapted some of it to their everyday life, though preserving some adaptability. In a world where so much has been lost and finding himself a leader, he though it very important to be thorough when it came to justice and good, to preserve honor and a way of life filled with dignity even in rough circumstances after seeing the horrors of raiders and bandits unchecked.
OCC, I don't know why I tend to default to such a 'polite' I think? manner of speaking but I do like it a lot.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. The way a character talks goes a long way toward identifying what sort of person they are. If I had to guess, if you feel like you 'default' to a particular manner of speech, it's probably because there's a particular type of character you enjoy playing for which said manner of speech works really well. Regardless of the actual reasons for it though, Lucinda's words just 'sounded' really cool when I heard them in my head, which is why I brought it up.
I see, I see... I do tend to be drawn to that kind of character. Thanks!
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.@ Echoing silence:
You mentioned in the signup thread that knowledge about the power armors was highly limited. Was there any kind of precursor technology like cargo loader suits or load bearing exoskeletons that the general public would know about? Dominic has a good amount of engineering knowledge, so he should have a good understanding of typical pre-fall technology. If you feel that he is a bit young for that kind of knowledge, I can tweak his age and back-story to fit a bit better.
Yeah Cargo loader suits were a thing. Engineering backgrounds are alright and being raised to understand pre fall technology is one of the paramount needs for survival.
Thank you for the info. In hindsight I might have worded the character background a bit too ambiguously in my signup. I meant to imply that Dominic was working on his engineering degree at the time of the fall. His age does skew young currently, but like I said I can tweak the back-story and his age a bit if you think that would be better.
So, probably bares asking: Mutants are a thing. How common are they? How freaky and weird are they? How likely are they to try and eat your bones? Can they be reasoned with? Can ones that aren't the main enemies be reasoned with? Have their brains degenerated, and turned them crazy? Is that true of all of them? Etc.
I hope that doesn't sound like pestering. I just want to get an idea for what our characters would expect these mutants to be like.
I can't reveal too much about the mutants holding the final vault without it being a spoiler.
But mutants are a fair occurrence, typically they aren't too different from regular humans. These guys that the Doc is talking about are military grade.
And degenerative thought processes can occur for them but it is rare and none of them want to eat your bones.
Gotcha. That's very helpful. Thank you kindly!
Never expect much of a answer from Dr. O. He's just given powered armor to a bunch of people who currently outnumber and and overpower him. What is to stop them from just up and killing him when they meet?
None of the things I just described for Sigrun and Wind are supposed to have any influence on gameplay, BTW, it's just for flavour.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Honestly, I never once considered that possibility. I am not ashamed of that fact. Heh. Still, that is a very good point.
Wow, I never realized that this Discussion Thread existed.
So is everyone on the transports yet?
Being too lazy to confirm, I *think* so? Other than Sigrun and I. We shall meet our apparent dooms in the air! That is the way of the avian!
Pssst, Silence, I think we could use a GM post...
You are reading this.Sorry. I will get onto that soon. Well tomorrow because as of current posting it is late.
Alright stop on by and ask some questions or discuss things about my Power Armor RP!
