TabletopGame.Dungeons And Dragons does not have a single, central trope list, as it has been split into four subpages for the overall game labeled Classes.Dungeons And Dragons, Creatures.Dungeons And Dragons, Mechanics.Dungeons And Dragons, and Settings.Dungeons And Dragons.

Then there are three folders on the page labeled Items, Gaming, and Meta.

And then there are all the subpages for individual campaign settings, editions (these are mostly external links, but a few do have pages here), and god knows how many derivative works.

I don't know how much of this is actually problematic, except for the subpages, which, as I understand it, are a no-no, because they are made-up namespaces that exist just to split the page. The folders don't seem to follow any pattern I've seen anywhere else on the wiki either.

So... I'm not sure what to do here. I'm not very familiar with D&D.

Move them back into one alphabetical list (except for classes, which can probably go on the character page) and split them that way.

The subpages are example splits, which are allowed. The precedent is to do them as DungeonsAndDragons.Mechanics rather than Mechanics.Dungeons And Dragons, however. As for the splits themselves: Items and Gaming are just subsets of Mechanics and should be in there, and Meta looks like it was tossed in there because someone wasn't sure what category to put something in. Classes and Creatures make more sense as a split of the Characters page rather than the main trope list.

Didn't Warhammer 40k used to have a similar split that was changed to alphabetical? What did we say in that discussion? I don't remember.

The various settings and derivative works are certainly deserving of their own pages.

Rhymes with "Protracted."
