I'm at a crossroads with a series I want to start. The main backstory is that the main character's family was slaughtered by a werewolf, and he himself was bitten.in both versions of the story, he discovers he has magic potential, and both the magical society and agency exist. However, in one version, he's the hated underdog who must rise to the top (magical society hates werewolves) while in the other he's raised as an agent/soldier at a young age and gets placed into the magical society. I find the former to be more entertaining, I figured I could use it to do social critique and make it deeper, as well as not as dark or violent, however, the agency idea was my original, go to thing. As a side note, I'll tell you a bit about the magical society, basically, there are four forms of magic, elemental (e main kind), beast magic (control and summoning of animals and plants), spirit magic (controlling one's life energy), and dark magic (various abilities). If I go with magical society I have to change the series name and everything, so, what do you think about this story? What should I do?

Write the version that appeals most to you as a writer, because that one will turn out to be better written. Dont throw your notes on the other version away, though, because chances are you will use it one day.
