It seems like a pretty common thing in visual Japanese media in general, from Kingdom Hearts to the Demon Slayer movie to Asura's Wrath. And probably some stuff I haven't seen in the past couple days. That image of someone in a place with nothing but a blue sky, white clouds, water just deep enough to reflect everything like a mirror, and usually some characters and stuff.
I don't have an explanation for it; in fact, I came across this post while trying to find such an explanation. But hopefully bumping this thread will bring in someone who actually knows enough about Japanese culture to explain...

In three seien manga the opening cotains some variation of this.
Is this becoming an anime trope and what does this even symbolize?
I am the white void, I am et cetera, et cetera... THE END HAS COME!
