Apprently Doug Ten Napel is involved, so I wouldn't write the J-Man out of the show just yet.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWouldn't writing out - or even seriously downplaying - God and religion kind of be against the point of the original Veggietales?
True, but there's only so much about The bible you can squezze into a kids' cartoon that we've all heard about before that it becomes a Called It moment, at least for me, and I won't go deep into my position on J-man now.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceLike half of the Bible can't be truly explored in a children's cartoon either, ironically.
It can, it just be seriously edited to the point that it's no where near the original Story (May I remind you of the story of King David and Uriah the Hittite turned into King George and the Rubber Ducky?)
Those designs are AWFUL.
I love the original Veggie Tales...not sure if I'll see this spin-off.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Is the OVA series still going?
God Dream Works just..... Just why. I know you're desperate for viewers and your stock market keeps falling but seriously? Don't you know a dead franchise when you see one? Has Mr Peabody And Sherman taught you nothing?
Why don't you just give us a Mega Mind TV show? That at least would be creative and has the potential to be funny.
EDIT:FUCK you, autocorrect

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. Are they really calling the show "in DA house"? Ugh -_-
I remember watching Veggietales back in Sunday School as a youngster, but that's really it. These reboots are becoming annoying, but ey. It's all about the money in the industry.
Supports cartoons being cartoony!Megan who?
Hell, even a Guardians show has more potential than v-tales
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. No, it's "in the house", but I changed it to "Da" just to show how it could be if they try and make it all like the pop culture of today.
Ironically, I had an idea for a "tales" movie paroding RWBY and it's about the pride of being a christian, but then it started to turn into a really stupid idea, then this came out of nowhere.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI don't think the new look works all that well. I have fond memories of Vegietales from when I was growing up. Unlike a lot of Moral Substitute, they didn't substitute values for quality.
All I'll say is this. I followed a twin sister team on tumblr who did great and cute artwork. One day, I learned that they had been hired by Big Idea to work under Doug TenNapel for a new project. Little did I know that they would actually become production designers for Veggie Tales in the House. Here is their blog and tumblr page. I agree the CGI interpretation is a bit off-putting but the actual redesigns are not bad at all.
Also, they are not downplaying the religious aspect at all. I saw some clips and they had bible quotes.

Man, are they NOT using that artist to her full potential.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Bob just looks way too happy to me. I can buy Larry looking that cheery and big-eyed, but Bob feels like they replaced him with an alien pod people tomato.
Ditto. Some of that art work looks REALLY good. Why was she directed to make such painful designs?
While the re-telling of the Bible stories Veggie tales does tend to be wacky, and sometimes rather different, they aren't all that way (Rack Shack and Benny and Daniel and the Lions' den were pretty much identical aside from a setting change in the first one). Also, the point of the accounts in the Bible being in there is to bring glory to God, and to teach people, both young and old, how to live life according to God's laws. And in doing that, Veggietales does a good job.
However, this series seems wackier to me than Sonic Boom... Too wacky. In fact, it feels like the characters are acting so crazy, there isn't any sense of intelligent humor. It just feels too bizarre for its own good.
I still love the original, and there's nothing wrong with having the same christian themes, but then, what else could be done for a story in the world? We could go real obscure and say mabey do a version of the crusades that kids will hopefully understand, but then again, this is all their adventures in real time around the house, so...
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDon't forget the Axe Cop guy worked on this too! But then I hear he's friends with the Earthworm Jim guy...
And apparently Michael J. Nelson had a hand in it as well.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThe main difference in both Daniel and Rack Shack and Benny is the lessons they teach:
Daniel teaches us to not worry because God will watch out for us (same with it's sister short: Tales from the Cripser)
Rack Shack and Benny teaches us how to handle Peer Pressure
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Oh, no. I was just trying to say that the those two Veggietales as well as others are actually fairly faithful retellings of the Biblical accounts and the lessons they teach.
I will concede they are running out of Bible stories to tell. However, I feel the lessons might get distracted by all the craziness. For example, how much do kids probably remember the little aesops they put in The Littlest Pet Shop? It's so wacky at times, they probably don't even remember the mundane moral.
It could be done so that they can be both wacky and effectively convey the story so the kids comprehend the lesson, but I think it will probably be difficult.

I know, I know. ANOTHER reboot series thread. First, My Little Pony. Then, Rainbow Brite. Then, Sonic Boom, but unlike all of those series, Veggie Tales was at "the very bottom of the vegetable bin" to ever get remade into... well what you'll read at the top.
From what I saw in the trailer, this new series is going to be, like Sonic, more comedy-focused and I believe downplaying the holy word a lot, so no "What have we learned today" ending song anymore.
And just like "Boom", the whole cast is getting a HUGE makeover, giving the whole cast eyes that look a little like the ones from those Happy meal commercials.
Y'know, after Rainbow Brite shattered my expectations with a kick ass three-episode pilot, and "Boom" being way better than what we first thought, i'm going to say this remake is going to be better than the original and WAAAAY better with an expanded world. Your thoughts or memories of the franchise?
EDIT: My mistake, I meant there still will be "values", just that I doubt that it will all be about God and Christian-based values. It will also be co-produced by Dreamworks animation, so there may be a chance for this series.
