I hope total mayhem sticks around after the event ends, dear god that is absolutely mental.

The next hero is on the horizon according to Jeph Kaplan.

Next week reveal? Are we expecting Terry crews or something else entirely?

This is quite possibly the most important discovery in the game so far:

Most people call the D.VaxLucio ship BunnyRibbit, from what I'm aware. Also, they're both adults; the age difference doesn't really matter.

Only 7 years, I've seen ships with far more distance.

He's also very young at heart despite still being young so yeah the two could go well together.

[up][up][up] What exactly happens when the two dance? I'm not getting it.

[down] Ah, that's what that clapping sound was!

I mean, Widowmaker's 33, and Tracer's 26; same age difference. Mercy76 definitely has a way bigger age gap than either ship, anyway.

It could be argued that while the numerical difference is the same, the difference between 19 and 26 is more significant, since the brain is still developing until 22 or so.

But even so, she's a legal adult, so she's mature enough to be making her own decisions. In theory anyways.

She works in the military and is a well regarded and trusted individual. I'd say she's capable of making her own decisions.

I heard koreans have a different way to measure age, implying D.Va would be considered 20.

It is just the year you were born was your age so you start out as 1 and when the new year rolls around would be when your age changed.

So the Chinese New Year is everyone's birthday!

The way Koreans traditionally count age is that you're considered 1 year old when you're born, and everyone gets older at the same time during Lunar New Year. So someone who's born, say, the day before Lunar New Year would automatically be 2 years old the next day.

[up] just clarifying that it's during the Lunar/Chinese New Year, not the Gregorian New Year.

I used to be an ESL tutor and one Korean kid I taught was having trouble because he'd been put into the wrong grade because of the age discrepancy.

But yeah, depending on when she was born, D.Va would be considered either 20 or even 21 in Korea if they still observe the traditional aging system in the 20-whenever Overwatch is.

That's a good question and probably a detail that the devs haven't thought of.

Also I gotta laugh at Hanzo's "Directing Arrow Mark" Kanji on his new outfit, its the wrong kind of 'arrow' it means arrows on a sign post not what you shoot. It is "矢印" when it should be just "矢"

Do... you mean elementary?

Or is Hanzo throwing around triangles made of lightning now?

...actually, isn't metal one of the classical Japanese elements? I guess he kind of is throwing around metal triangles. Attached to long shafts of wood.

I wonder, are there safeguards in place to prevent the free players this weekend from buying loot boxes and then complaining they have to buy the game to keep the items they paid for? If not, seems like there should be.

Eh, those loot boxes are going to be linked to their accounts, anyway, so there's really nothing Blizzard has to do to "safeguard" against people dumb enough to do something like that. Sure, they can bitch and moan about it all they want, but it's highly unlikely anyone's gonna be on their side. They know the game's only free for a weekend, and lootboxes are a separate, optional, purchase.

Finally started my placements right before the end of the season. I'm more or less just doing my ten and just writing it off, though, since I couldn't put any real time into it this season. Is fake smurfing a thing now? Just had two games in a row where the same guy claimed to be a GM smurf in order to deflect criticism when trash talking the team and to claim credit for everything when someone more or less said "good job" at the end of a round. It was very... odd.

[up]Yes, there is also a new thing I am hearing about were lower ranked players are paying to be boosted to GM just to get the street cred. That could of just been a troll though.
