Generally I'm pro-very liberal translation, though it's true it's easy to let them get out of hand. But literal translations seem so stilted and unnatural...
Especially where wordplay and puns get involved. I often think that comedy has to be the hardest thing to translate well, given how much it relies on the above. I think of it as the difference between why the chicken crossed the road and why it crossed the playground.

I personally prefer dog puns over his saying "woof" at the end of his sentences. I've never been a huge fan of that particular detail in Japanese animal folk. I think partly because it's hard to translate to English well, so the puns are fine as a substitute.

They're both the equivalent of the person screaming "I AM A DOG" during every conversation

[up][up]Completely agree, I hate when they left the "make one sound at the end of every sentence" Verbal Tic untranslated (or should I say unadapted?). See also Kuma/Teddie from Videogame/Persona4. :P The puns may be too much, but I'd at least translate it as the guy "woofing" at pseudo-random points of his sentences.

I read the Chinese scanlation for My Hero Academia where that dog head guy ends his sentence by saying woof. I'm not going to say anything because I don't feel like. Not even the dog pun, I can't even think about any puns about dog.

Dog puns are fine, but you have to be a bit careful not to go too far. Japanese is a language that's very accepting of idiosyncratic ways to end sentences, so it feels more like a "pun" than a random "woof" would in English.

Changing Todoroki's voice bugs me a bit though.

Also, I think Stain is an excellent villain.

Meh, I think FA's translations are very good 90% of the time. It's just that the remaining 10%, the badness is very noticeable. I wouldn't call them "terrible" because they take a more risky and rewarding approach and sometimes mess up. I'd take them over a literal-style translator every day.

Also yeah, Stain is a very good villain. I like how big villains consider the hands guy a spoiled child, though. It's pretty clear they're trying to shape him into some sort of "ideal villain", which makes him a good foil for Deku.

Yeah, calling them terrible is going way too far, in my opinion. But when things look off with their translations, it's really noticeable.

Haha, I've seen some bad translations in my time, and well, let's not even go there. Fallen Angel is definitely readable.

I loved their specials where they tried to make up English names for the characters while keeping the themes and the goofy feeling. I'd actually like a version with those names, or similar ones. But I'm probably in a very small minority here. XD

Okay, "terrible" is too mean, I guess. Still don't like what they're doing, though. Also, some stuff I noticed, their translator really likes using fancy words and phrases.

The only problem I really have with the translation is when they're trying to be too casual and "youth-speak" like with Todoroki using swears in the most recent chapter or Deku a few chapters back. It is fitting for some characters like Bakugou, but for Deku especially it is really jarring. I hope they get feedback on that (and not just "ooh, terrible translation!").

Stain's reaction to Endeavour was pretty interesting.Seems like he knows his true side.

... So is it the common consensus that Fallen Angel's translations used to be better, but now it's kinda eh?

I'd love to buy the official English one, but they're not in any import bookstores in Indonesia. Not the ones that's close to where I am, anyway.

Hoping that it will get an official Indonesian release.

I'd agree with that assessment. Still decent enough to read but definitely getting worse.

Might be because they're rushing more? Previously, in line with their 'support the official release' stance, I think they saved their scanlations for until after said release, but with other scanlators doing it they're getting them out quicker for the sake of competition, which may be hurting quality.

Scanlation drama ruining things. Woo.

Now that you mention it, what happened to Power Manga anyway? They haven't been releasing for ages.

I wonder when it's going to get an anime. It's bound to happen but I get the feeling whatever they do will feel rushed.

I think they need to give the manga as much time as possible if they are going to do an anime.

Give it a bit more than that, just to make sure they have a lot of room to work with.
