I like that Power Loader guy who faced Iida in the exam. He has a cool look. I also like the Principle cause he's so cute & pretty stylish. Those sneakers are fucking awesome.

Well, yeah. Fullmetal executed it about as well as you could, but it is still part of the trend of "protagonist family is secretly way awesome than it was initially implied". Part of the reason it works here is, as you said, is that their skills didn't come from their family. In the end, it never feels Ed and Al are the heroes because the are children of Hohenheim.

Anyway, Fullmetal Alchemist did a great job with the trope, but still used said trope very directly. It definitively "counts" on my book.

Speaking of Power Loader, I wish we knew what he could do. Or was that in that databook too?

No, the only info I could find about Powerloader from the databook (on the Wikia. I don't actually own the databook) is that he likes cars and that his beta version was named Higari Umeshima, with the kanjis for "dry hunt" and "burying island"; hero name Sinker.

I believe the "burying"/"Sinker" part of his discarded name + the fact that his helmet looks like a backhoe's shovel are pretty good hints for a digging quirk.

The wiki draws a blank, but all we know is that he super stronk.

Oh, he isn't a pro, but I forgot to mention Ojiro when we talked about favorite students. There's something about his gross-ass tail, his plain look, how his costume is a gi, and how he was able to pass the entrance exams with just a gross-ass tail and hard work that just clicks for me.

He's also very honorable. The way he bowed out of the tournament as he didn't recall shit of what happened was impressive.

I wonder if when were gonna see the unknown 3rd rank (now 2nd rank I believe) hero at some point.

I always get wondered about how Mt Lady would have worked as main heroine and relationship with proto Deku.

She's a cutie. I like the cyborg cowboy pro, who is he, he's cool. It's interesting to see guns be an equalizer and with the police admitting they need to change, I'd like to see how they adapt.

Bring on more B class too.

Meh, I didn't really like that. It kind of feeds into the narrative that Shinsou hated so much, i.e. that his powers are just "bad" or "fit for a villain". He didn't break any rules or hurt anyone so there shouldn't have been a problem.

He didn't get Ojiro's consent either, or he'd have at least known what happened.

The problem is I don't think Shinshou's power really works on consent really. I mean it will literally hi-jack someone's body if they respond to him about whichever.

And how in the hell would he ask for someone to work with him like that? Oh hey can you just let me use my hi-jack power on you? You won't remember a thing....

As for pro heroes I will admit I like Ectoplasm, that gun guy with the mask, and Midnight. I do also like Eraserhead, the Principial, and All Might of course. Haven't seen much of the other pros to form an opinion on them....

Izuku remembered what happened and it's not like the control happens whenever anyone speaks to him. I think it was more the situation than anything else.

I thought Shinsou's Quirk did activate when people spoke to him, or at least responded to him verbally. I remember it happening just even when Deku talked to him normally, even if just for a second

He has to will it to happen. It would be a pretty shitty power if he had no control over it. He was making a point to Izuku when he did it after their match was over.

Oh my fucking god yes.

Uploaded after what feels like forever. The OST for this anime was pretty good. You Say Run is probably objectively perfect and anyone who disagrees has a very wrong opinion.

Tumblr is hardly the most reliable metric, but Toshinori/Inko gained a lot of momentum after the latest chapters. It's part adorable, but mostly a laugh considering Izuku's dad exists.

Well then he needs to start actually existing, instead of being both unseen and unmentioned outside of one brief nod in the beginning of the manga.

I noticed Kacchan's mom started existing too.In *ahem* interesting situations.

She looks just like Bakugou. I'm guess it's an excuse to draw a female who looks like Bakugou rather then just gender bending Bakugou....not that that will stop either.

Fans defnitely took notice of Kaachan (sadly cannot take credit for that). Give the fans a strong-willed, mature lady who takes no bullshit for two weeks, and you certainly get things that do, indeed, exist.

@Handsomerob: Now, now. If the fans wanted to draw Fem!Kacchan they would just draw genderbent fanart. Hori himself gave us his blessing, since he drew that one illustration with the core cast getting 63'd.

Oh right. Forgot he did that.
