She probably doesn't question it because the original quirks appeared out of nowhere and one of the first cases was a glowing baby.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yeah, but that was then and this is now, and it seems like Quirks randomly appearing stopped a long time ago.

I believe it was partly relief about the whole "If the kid is born lacking,it's the mother's fault" thing.
Secret SignatureWell, theoretically there could be quirks that are so specific that you don't notice them as kids. Like, I don't know, glowing semen or something.
All for One probably didn't discover his quirk until later in life, given how rare they would have been back then.
Deku's quirk didn't appear because some sort of bone abnormality (atleast in the story) indicating that he was quirkless by the age when quirks appear. I imagine it's possible you can develop quirks later on in life but it's very very rare.

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothNitpick, the bone abnormality wasn't the reason his Quirk didn't manifest, it was just a sign that it wouldn't.
If I recall the explanation right, the joint in the toe was a leftover before Quirks started appearing that most people lack, and still having it was a sign that you'd never develop one
And it's been explicitly stated that if your Quirk hasn't manifested by the time you're four, it means you don't have one.

The pinky toe joint thing is probably just an "older" phenotype like lactose intolerance and wisdom teeth. The way the doctor described it made it sound like statistical observation, so I imagine that the toe joint itself is unlikely to be related to quirks: it's just that the presence of that joint tends to coincide with quirklessness (due to the joint regulating gene and the quirk manifestation switch being located very close to each other or something). If their genetics is anything like ours, there might be small number of people who 1) have the toe joint but have quirks or 2) don't have the toe joint but are quirkless.
Lactose intolerance is the norm in most of the world, actually, but I get your point.
Still, I'd more willing to accept some trickery going on if this was still a relatively new thing in their world but it's not. Deku's is the fifth generation of Quirks and 20% of the population is still Quirkless. Though they obviously don't know everything I think they'd have things like when Quirks on going to show up basically hammered out.
I know lactose intolerant is the norm, I'm Asian and intolerant my self! I gave that as an example since being able to process lactose is a relatively new feature in humans. So I counted intolerance as 'old' phenotype despite that being the majority, old doesn't mean odd
Aren't Quirks still relatively new in MHA-verse though, genetically speaking? It's only been 5 generations. Considering how Izuku's peers reacted to Izuku's Quirklessness, and how All Might said "Quirklessness was rare in my time too, though not to your generation's extent", I thought large chunk of the Quirkless 20% are in the older generation. Which means there's gotta be Quirky children being born from Quirkless parents these days too...

Oh, that make sense. Still, I get the impression it's been like a hundred years or more. Like, Izuku is surprised All For One could still be alive if he's from when it first started happening.
On my earlier comment and the reactions there of to it: It should be noted that I'm somewhat biased due to having had a very poor relationship with my parents growing up, and currently still do to an extent, so Inko's comments struck me as more of a slap in the face and typical parental malfunction than what they were meant to be. Its my fault entirely. I understand the why, it just comes off as brutally backhanded to me.
If I made it seem like I was trying to argue as to why we shouldn't sympathize with Inko then I apologize deeply. It wasn't my intent. She should be. I just don't.

Yeah I can see where you are coming from but on the other hand, deku's been in the hospital for broken bones like what at least 5 times now? and he is in danger of not being able to use his arms if that keeps up. If I was a parent and my kid joined a sport like football and came home from every practice with a broken bone, I wouldn't want to let him keep doing it, regardless if they can heal it.
In Deku's defense, the usage of the full-powered OFA that is now destroying his arm was justified since it was a Godzilla Threshold. He had no other options since he was going up against Muscular who was a bitch to take down.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Deku's mom's concern comes partly from the fact that's the sort of thing heroes do all the time.
Yeah, but if things were going normally she'd at least have more time to get used to it. It's been one borderline disaster after another and he isn't even done with his first semester.
Onto something different, All Might living but losing his power, the entire world finding out about it, and him staying on as a teacher honestly comes as a bigger twist to me than him dying in a blaze of glory. A lot of interesting things should come from this.
It's interesting that they rank the Pros twice a year. Endeavor is obviously a shoe-in for No. 1 now but as we've seen, he's not going to take it very well like this.

Huh now that I think bout it, Deku's been handeling things pretty good all things considered. The last time OFA shattered his limbs was his battle against Todoriki. Afterwards, he learned Full Cowl & manged to battle Stain & All Might without mutilating himself, albeit with backup. He only got back to killing himself with Muscular, who was a Godzilla Threshold & actually very recent. Like literally two arcs ago.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That would have the worst possible match up for pretty much anyone. Like, it's almost hilarious how beyond everyone else's league Muscular was in terms of power.
I want it to be the last time Midoriya kills his arms to death, but the doctor says he has two rounds left in him. I would buy Midoriya totally givijg up on the desparation attack if that nugget wasn't set up. He has gotten better, and the last time was one where his hand was forced but this is far from the last time he'll be backed into a corner by someone much stronger than him
@LSBK: I love it. It just opens up way more story avenues and potential character development than going through the death flag would have.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I was honestly genuinely surprised when Deku managed to take Muscular down. Once I saw his quirk and realized just how ridiculously powerful that is I thought Deku would need to try to run with Kouta or something to get back up.
....Also on the topic of Muscular. What in the hell was with that artificial eye of his? I know he probably picked it for the intimidation factor but my god was that thing just ridiculously creepy looking. I honestly initially thought his quirk would have something to do with his eyes when I first saw that...

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothDidn't he lose it in the fight with Kota's parents?

Yeah, he lost an eye, they lost their lives. He considers that a fair outcome.
The end of episode 13 seems to indicate we won't wait too long for the second season.
I mean, they didn't give a date, but they might already have some stuff ready.
I guess we'll see.
One Strip! One Strip! Two to three seasons from now a safe bet. They already had a key visual and little teaser.
I can wait. Man, though, sports festival and the Stain battle will be amazing in animation.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I caught up :D
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
I know where mostly done with this but I feel another point that should be made about how supportive his mother has been throughout all of this is her calling him apparently randomly manifesting a Quirk a miracle.
Besides being completely out of the blue it also flies in the face of how the genetics of it seems to work but she doesn't seem to question it because it lets him attempt his dreams. Most people would probably be more like Bakugou (not in the horrible rage department but having a lot of questions).
