It starts twenty years from now when John Thursday -the American Ambassador to the U.N who also assists an agency within an American Intelligence Agency (though it's not yet made clear which one - receives a written letter from a mysterious stranger and his associates (freelance spies who trade the valuable secrets they acquire for political favors) who intends to incite a diplomatic incident between India and China by leaking a certain file the Party would rather keep secret to the Indian President.

If successful this will have the effect of escalating the existing rivalry between India and China to the point where a skillful enough diplomat could arrange India's cooperation in containing a rising China at the upcoming U.N Summit (on International Law regarding Biotechnology, which will create some rather interesting divisions and alliances. Unfortunately getting the message through has proven more difficult one might expect, as the Chinese have learned about the freelance spies, know they have the classified file in question, and have sent two of their best operatives (together known as "The Silent Death") to eliminate them.

Any wireless communication could be tracked and thus to risky to be used by what it no effectively a courier and the major airlines have all gone bankrupt due to rising fuel prices. Thus it is up to the crew of the Varna's Luck -a mercantile vessel with long list of shady and even evil dealing despite desperately wanting to go straight- to deliver this Courier from a port city in Bangladesh to a port city in India in the hopes that she may get the message to the president before the day of the Summit comes and goes. Meanwhile, one of the crew's own may or may not work for an old foe/potential ally

So begins an epic quest which I am trying to fit into as few days as possible... as you might have guessed from the title. On this I am admittedly struggling just as I struggle in discerning how certain setting elements might affect the plot. How might I more effectively tackle these issues?
