With most of S2 online, this would be one of my favorite series if that damn puppet show had not happened.
What was so bad about the puppet show that it outweighs the 60+ other episodes?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Oh no, oh no, oh no

It doesn't quite outweigh them - I'm still watching, after all - but it made it pretty hard to take anything the least bit seriously afterwords. Comedy and drama can be balanced well, but that went quite a bit too far for me.
Hi!
Just out of curiosity, roughly when was the original novella set? (Don't answer "1872", that's when the book came out—not the setting.)
Because part of me keeps wanting to illustrate the novella using the likenesses of the show cast, but that's just a what-if thing for now.
I want to go to there.Just checked this out, almost done with season 1.
As a big fan of the original book, it's odd to say that one of the most faithful adaptations is a Canadian web series with one set and a minimalist cast.
It may just be me getting used to the characters, but the acting seems to improve pretty quickly. Natasha's monologue that recounts her backstory from the book is surprisingly effective, Laura's improv puppetry aside.
When I first saw her, I didn't think she could do the vampire thing seriously. But when she drops the act she's rather thoughtful. And somehow makes the phrase "finish your overdue lit paper" sound like an invitation to bed.
At times it was a bit over the top, but I'm satisfied. I've found I liked this series more than series 2 for some reason. Maybe it's the way it was released, or maybe the fact that season 2 seemed pointlessly dark at times.
The internet is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it-William GibsonI loved it <3 I felt like the ending might have been a bit rushed but overall I was pretty satisfied.
(also there's gonna be a MOVIE!)
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlA Movie! I know so exciting.
So, how about that feature film, huh?

Mattie's made her feelings on Mayfly–December Romance pretty clear so I think you got it right.
