Saw it yesterday (all 10 episodes). Absolutely fantastic. Everything (including the climax) felt like a good-old fairy tale. Such a well-made and heartwarming series. I hope this becomes a "once a year" thing for CN.

I now want CN to do more mini-series! Seriously. I can imagine the potential for more risk-taking cartoons that isn't just a juvenile comedy.
I agree. There's so much to work with with the format they presented. The only problem is that I love this series but I wished it were a film so it could be presented without chapters but it worked well with the chapter mechanics as well.
I just saw this
So do they play reruns of this on Cartoon Network? If so, I'd like to see them to see what all the fuss is about.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.I think you can watch it on the Cartoon Network website if your tv package includes cartoon network.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI really hope they do rerun it! :( Pweeeeeeeeeeeeze??
There is an Over the Garden Wall comic, based on material that was cut from the show.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI just have two questions:
First: Why didn't they just ask the old couple for two more cents? Even if the couple are both senile the horse should remember them. My only guess is that it has something to do with Beatrice convincing Wirt not to in hopes of getting him kicked off the boat or them having to hurry before the boat leaves (which only works if you can clearly see the boat from the mansion).
Second: In the final episode, the Woodsman is in the same mill as in the first, yet is still really close to Wirt and Greg. This is pretty hard to reconcile with all the traveling done in the previous episodes, unless there happened to just be an identical abandoned mill lying around for some reason. Also, he apparently had time to fix the roof between episodes.
My theory for the second question: The Unknown being some kind of Magical Place that could be a dreamworld or a purgatory or the afterlife, I think it restores things or settings that have fallen into it. But when it was restored, it didn't restore the Woodsman's modifications, so he had to use the hand grinder.
As for Greg and the Beast being close to the mill, the Beast wanted the Woodsman to harvest Greg to keep the lantern lit so he would have brought him nearby. Plus, after the bust at Adelaide's, Greg and Wirt were wandering around aimlessly so who knows where they ended up.
For the first question: The money wasn't a gift so that they could ride the ferry. It was given to Greg to build a fortune with because he was a kind kid who Quincy thought had good sense. Coming back not even a couple minutes later and going 'can we have more money? We lost it' probably wouldn't have gone over well. Beatrice hurrying them or the ferry leaving soon probably also work. But hm, this question didn't even occur to me until you asked it. Fridge logic at its finest.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe problem is simply how much traveling is done between episode 1 and 6. It might add up if you assume that very little time passes between these episodes, they were going in the opposite direction of Adelaide between episode one and two, the rider in episode four led them really far astray and they had to backtrack in order to get on the boat, but it's till pretty iffy to me.
I'd just say that it's due to the nature of the place. It might also all been just a dying dream, so...
I just saw this series last weekend. LOVED it. Please come out with season 2!
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I would rather not have a second season, only because they wrapped the whole thing up nicely. I feel like a season 2 would be pointless. Plus, Patrick Mchale tweeted that he would rather not do a second season. https://twitter.com/Patrick_McHale/status/534406776687722496
Anyways, I was wondering if there should be an Analysis subpage for the miniseries. There's a lot of death symbols and whatnot.

S.Z. Unicorn Doom Inc.Then CN should make another mini-series!
If you want to make an Analysis page, go ahead.
Yeah, as much as I loved this, I'd like to see CN do something new instead of continuing this one. Garden Wall just felt like a complete work as it is.
Are there going to be more comic books? I read earlier that they planned more episodes than they decided to make in the end, so that first issue was based on an episode 2.5.
Analysis? I read a good one recently.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOK fine, keep it as a single season mini series then. My mistake.
If we're going to go with more minis then, I'd like to suggest them branching out into different genres. If this was more surreal fantasy (like Adventure Time) with elements of horror and mystery, I'd love it if they made something more horror and fantasy based. Like Grim Adventures was in its first season but more intense.
Or, hell, just get one of the writers from Regular Show to do an adaptation of the Cthulu mythos.

I'm hoping CN will rerun it in the future. It could become a Halloween staple.
I have "The Highwayman" stuck in my head.
... and I make ends meeeeeeeet.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Hello I also liked this very much so.
