Rewatching it really makes you appreciate how literally everything in it is foreshadowed.
I plan to rewatch this sometime this month.
Same. There's a friend who expressed his interest in it, so we just have to set a date for watching it.
Over the Garden Wall/Spirited Away mashup
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe digital version of the soundtrack is out, including on Spotify Premium and Amazon Unlimited. It has some bonus tracks which I don't know if they were on the vinyl.
One of them is a longer version of the Beast's song where he goes "tra la la la", called "The Jolly Woodsman".

A sort-of sequel graphic novel to be published in November.

Just a person. He/him.So!
The full title of the graphic novel is Over the Garden Wall: Distillatoria, and since this is one of those works where nearly everything shown is a clue for something else down the line, I Googled the term "distillatoria" and it got me this stuff about some plant...
Oh, the synopsis for those who are curious:
Calling it now (spoiler-blocking it in case it turns out to be true, I have a weird knack for predicting stuff): The boys didn't take Beatrice with them home, they are just still in the Unknown somehow. Or maybe it's some Lotus-Eater Machine thing.
Ha ha, they think they got us, but I'm one step ahead of them!

New theme music also a boxHi everyone!
I need help finding a post.
I think as a promotional thing, CN released a tape consisting of ,to quote wirt, "poetry and clarinet....POETRY AND CLARINET!"
Is that mix still up and can it be purchased as a cassette?
Because I just my own cassette player for the first time in what must be decades.
thank you!!!!
Ciao bellaA two year bump I know, shame on me!I bumped this thread for a good cause mind you because I have a burning question,do we actually know who cursed Beatrice?I asked on Reddit and responses I got indicated that it was that blue bird itself was responsible but Adelaide conveniently has the instruments that would undo the curse which gives me the sneaky feeling the curse may have originated from her and then there's this concept art of Auntie whispers with the tools to undo the curse
So yeah,a plot point I've never thought about until now that's got me thinking

New theme music also a boxYeah, we're not really given to know. Beatrice just says she and her family were cursed when she threw a stone at a bluebird, but she doesn't really say that it was the bluebird who cursed them.
I never questioned Adelaide's having the shears to help Beatrice; I just figured she was a witch, so she'd have such things. Adelaide's cursing Beatrice and her family (or at least being responsible for the curse in some way) makes as much sense as anything.
Whoever really cursed her must have really liked bluebirds to curse an entire family and be pretty formidable as well as petty
On other hand,I've wondered if Beatrice lied about the curse because she wanted to get turned into a bluebird for reasons and included her family so she didn't feel alone.
New theme music also a boxOr the bluebird might've been one of The Fair Folk or favored by them. Cursing the entire family because one member threw a rock once would be entirely in character.
Yeah, that kind of thing isn't out of character for the kind of magical figures that go around cursing people in folklore and mythology. The innocent frequently get cursed along with the guilty.
From a narrative perspective, having Beatrice's family cursed along with her gives an added urgency to her actions. Her being willing to sell complete strangers to Adelaide is a bit more understandable (a bit) if she's trying to un-curse her family and not just herself.
> Or the bluebird might've been one of The Fair Folk or favored by them. Cursing the entire family because one member threw a rock once would be entirely in character.
There aren't any Fair Folk in the show itself but Auntie Whispers and her sister Adelaide are probably closest to what I think of when I think of very weird, very dangerous entities that aren't obviously demonic and aren't outright evil (except Adelaide) ,this show does have pure Good in the form of the Queen of The Clouds and Evil with The beast. The sisters are definately somewhere in between the solidly good and absolutely evil which is typically occupied by The Fair Folk
New theme music also a boxWait, wasn't the Queen of the Clouds part of Greg's dream?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Yeah, she appears in Greg's dream but since the Unknown is also a dreamlike state she's a dream within a dream
there's some debate over her appearance and whether she's not The Beast tricking Gregory

New theme music also a boxA year long bump because a thought just occurred to me since I noticed people like shipping Lorna and Beatrice together..
Since they never interact in the show, quite literally Greg and Wirt only meet Auntie Whispers after they escape from Adelaide,it feels like it's quite obvious to me they wouldn't get along like at all.

Because ’tis the season, I re-watched this last night. Two years on and this really holds up. Wow. Cherish this, folks, it’s a latter-day classic!
