Thing should be on warranty. Get onto Nintendo and your retailer stat, and you should get a new one.

That's not the problem; I'll just have to wait an unglodly amount of time for shipping - about 2 more weeks, considering it took 5 days to ship home from when it was bought.
And I wanted this so badly to revisit old friends (from 3.5 years, mind you, with whom I've never talked or done anything much all this time).

A Wii U from the MK 8 bundle I bought on Monday and arrived today seems to have come defective right off the box. No amount of cable swapping - or even TV swapping for that matter - will get it to display something on a TV screen. The Gamepad works fine, but that's moot because without an onscreen image it's impossible to continue the first-time configuration.
