There was this character called Eldritch Lowork who had a pet that looked almost but not quite unlike a three-legged calico cat, which may or may not have been male.
More to the point about the trope Eldritch Abomination, the word eldritch just means weird or foreign, and a word H. P. Lovecraft liked to use to describe the indescribable abominations that appeared in his stories, to the point where it's directly associated with such things you can't quite describe.
