I don't know if I buy the idea that one guard, or a couple of guards, simply took the names of dead kids and used them to get the job. I know new companies keep taking the Fazbear mantle, but surely someone would've remembered 'Oh yeah! That's the name of one of the dead children from the last Fazbear Restaurant!'?
New question: What's in the box in FNAF 4? Is that still a mystery we'll never get the answer to? Is there even a hint as to what it could be?
It's not like he took their last names too.
One of guys who played the game and got the Lorekeeper certificate goes over all the little easter eggs and lore bits he found. Specifically, the Pac-Man game, the racing game, and a minigame and cutscene gained from the Security Puppet. It also has 3 (or all 3?) of Candy Cadet's stories.

That scene in the racing game showed that William Afton had a drinking habit and may have been alcoholically abusive to Michael.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Which may go since way toward explaining the Big Brother Bully tendencies in his childhood.

Is the runaway child confirmed to be Michael, though? I always thought that was the Crying Child and Michael’s the one watching TV. Sister Location established that Michael loves watching soap operas. In FNAF 4, it was shown that “he” (likely William) often locks CC in his room.

This account is dead. I’ve said a lot of dumb things in the past and I wish to forget them. I’m sorry if I’ve ever hurt anyone. Can't be talking to the kid in front of th TV says he had a rough day. and the Crying Child becomes The Puppet, and is also the cassette man's daughter
Actually Crying Child is not the Puppet. FNAF 6 revealed that Puppet is Cassette Man’s daughter, Charlotte. Crying Child is definitely male.

I’m sorry if I’ve ever hurt anyone.there are 2 crying childs; one belonging to the Afton Family and got bitten, and the other that got snuffed in the FNAF 2 minigame. You can see the child in the final scene of the game

The Child outside in the “Give Cakes” mini game is definitely Charlotte. FNAF 6 shows in the Security Puppet minigame what happens to her: said Security Puppet sensed her outside and finds her already bleeding out from her wounds, but the rain causes it to malfunction just as she dies so her spirit possesses the Puppet. That’s why the Puppet gives a jump scare at the end of the FNAF 2 minigame, because that’s when it was “given life”.

This account is dead. I’ve said a lot of dumb things in the past and I wish to forget them. I’m sorry if I’ve ever hurt anyone. The kid who got drive by Purple Guyed in FNAF 2 is the Puppet.
The strange thing is The ending makes clear that the spirits of the murdered children are finally free. But that already happened back in FNAF 3, and Henry speech makes mention to "some of you" when the only animatronics we know are possessed are Baby, Springtrap and the Puppet. Between this and Candy Cadet's stories, does this imply the bad ending of FNAF 3 is the canon one and that Ennard somehow took in the five children between games?
That or Scrap Baby, Ennard, and/or Springtrap have claimed more victims since.
^^Eh, have you watched Matpat's summary video?
Basically iirc, there are multiple sets of dead kid(counting from minigame deaths), William was really busy
Matpat didn't come up with that theory. Back in FNAF 2 there was more sets of dead kids in the mini-games (the Foxy mini-game) and it wasn't quite explained if it was the original 5 or there was many more.
Matpat isn't gospel
But he's also not usually that far wrong, when it comes to FNAF. Scott himself has acknowledged that much.
While Matpat has made some questionable content in the past, Scott recently came out and said his timeline videos were probably the most accurate theories he ever saw.
Yeah, just because you hate the guy doesn't mean you should dismiss him when creator of the work doesn't
I don't really like Matpat so take my posts in regards to him with a grain of salt.
How do you get that one? Something to do with the eggman?

From a youtube comment: "When you have eggbaby placed in the restaurant, finish and play the night. Turn your computer off, but when you turn it on again hold the button."
So I saw the gameplay and it look REALLY good, is funny to finally see fredbear entretaintment in their eyes.
But after seen all I must said...what is the deal with Child them? It look really random and kinda out of place, FANF 4 really look like odd entry in the series.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I think the implication, and the running guess on GameTheory (Web Show), whose theories Scott confirms are accurate overall (though to be fair he doesn't tell us what MatPat's specifically gotten wrong) is that FNAF 4's Crying Child is the soul controlling Golden Freddy, the animatronic that Bit him.
As I understand it:
The original/Withered animatronics are the murdered children.
The Crying Child is Golden Freddy
The Toys are either more murder victims or legitimately malfunctioning A.I.s.
The Puppet is the murder victim we see killed alone outside a pizzeria.
Springtrap is the murderer, William Afton
Circus Baby is William Afton's daughter
The Funtime animatronics-slash-Ennard are unknown, if they're anyone at all.
The true Purple Man is Michael Afton, son of William Afton.
Lefty is the Puppet
