Pallet Town

-Pallet Town: a quaint little town at the southern end of the Kanto region, a town known for its beginnings. Just a few months ago, a boy set out from this town to become the Champion of the Indigo League. A boy with the peculiar name "Red".-

-This, of course, is a different story.-

-Now, a few months after his triumph, a new story starts to form from the same town. A story of many. A group of Trainers, rather than one on his own.-

-In the largest bedroom of an ordinary house in Pallet Town, a young girl is sitting up on her bed. She hadn't been able to sleep at all the previous night, and she opened her window a few hours earlier to watch the sunrise. Now, the light coming through the window brightens the entire room. The girl stands up, feels the calm breeze from outside, and smiles.-

Evelyn: Couldn't have asked for a prettier day.

-She walks to the other side of the room, where her "sister", a Girafarig by the name of Hannah, is still sleeping. She kneels down and reaches out her hand to pet Hannah.-

Evelyn: Good mor— Ach!

-Hannah's tail tries to bite Evelyn. Evelyn, clearly used to this, reacts quickly, stopping the bite with her left arm, on which she wears a metal bracer. She frees her arm from the tail's grip and goes back to petting Hannah. Hannah opens her eyes, and Evelyn jumps to her feet.-

Evelyn: You're awake! Come on, let's go, let's go!

-Without another word, Evelyn sprints outside and leans against the side of her house. Hannah follows her out.-

Evelyn: I'm far too excited right now to get too annoyed by your oversleeping. This is it... It's time...

-Nearby, a girl with a purple shirt and a white hat wanders aimlessly. Patricia "Trish" Alonso seems to be awfully distracted by a shiny new Trainer card, glinting in the sunlight. A Ralts trails behind her, looking a fair bit less entranced.-

Holly the Ralts: <You've been staring at that thing for hours.>

Trish: Hey, gimme a break, I'm excited! I'm finally, officially a Trainer! I'm allowed to be excited for this sort of thing, aren't I?

Holly: <You should probably watch where you're going, though.>

Trish: I should wha—

-She's interrupted as she walks straight into a lightpost near Evelyn's house, dropping the card in the grass. Holly rolls her eyes.-

Trish: Oof...

Holly: <I told you.>

-Evelyn sees Trish crash into the lightpost out of the corner of her eye.-

Evelyn: Ouch.

-She walks over to the post.-

Evelyn: There's a—

-She cuts herself off when she notices the Trainer Card on the ground. She bends down and picks it up.-

Evelyn: Never mind. You're a new trainer, too?

-She holds out her hand.-

Evelyn: Are you all right?

Alex bounded down the countryside, a cocky smirk on her face. The baggy jersey she was wearin' didn't seem to impede her in any way. On her hat a Cubchoo held on helplessly.

<C-can't we slow down a bit?>

Alex skidded to a stop and took the Cubchoo in her arms.

"What was that?"

Gordie flailed around in a cute manner.

"You want me to slow down?"

<-nodsnods->

"Silly Gordie, we can't slow down now! This is only our first day, there's a whole world we got to get to!"

She plops him back on her head and runs.

She comes across Evelyn's house and slows down, seeing Trish on the ground. Gordie sprawls on top of her head, dizzy.

<Uhhhh...@_@>

Alex looks from Trish to Evelynn and back to Trish. She stoops down and pokes her.

"First day jitters, huh?"

-Trish jumps up from her daze, beaming-

Trish: Perfectly fine! No jitters here! Yeah, I'm new, but I'm new and ready!

Holly: <If you ask me, this excitement is unhealthy for her.>

-Trish doesn't notice Holly's remark, having not been telepathized to any of the humans in the group.-

-In a small home, near the outskirts of Pallet Town, an annoying alarm rang. In fact it had been ringing obnoxiously for the last hour. The noise was coming from the geust room loaned to Toby Manchester by his uncle Ricardo Manchester.-

-Toby rolled over slowly and glared at his clock-

Toby: Ugh. Today's THAT day. Great.

-Toby slowly pulls his stuff together and leaves the house.-

-Evelyn smiles.-

Evelyn: I thought my enthusiasm couldn't be beaten today! Guess I was wrong about that!

-She holds out Trish's Trainer Card.-

Evelyn: You're Patricia Alonso, then?

-Trish takes her Trainer Card back.-

Trish: Please, just call me Trish! And you are?

-She waves to Toby excitedly as he walks outside, regardless of the fact that she's never met him before in her life.-

Trish: Hi, whoever you are! Geez, so many people around that I don't know but want to!

Holly: <Okay, this is definitely not healthy for you. You already want to talk to strangers off in the distance. So much for "don't".>

Evelyn: Just Trish... okay! I'm Evelyn Thorne!

-She hugs Trish.-

Evelyn: Nice to meet you!

-Guts was waiting outside for Toby, angrily and rythmically stomping his foot. Today was a big day in Guts' life and Toby was ruining it with his laziness. Toby looked down a the glarung pokemon when...

Toby: (Oh god that girl is waving at me.) H-hi. (Weak.)

-Trish smiles incredibly brightly as she's hugged by Evelyn-

Trish: Nice to meet you too, Eve! Can I call you Eve?

-She doesn't wait for an answer, because she quickly escapes the hug and runs up to meet Toby. Holly gives an exasperated sigh, staying near Evelyn and Hannah.-

Holly: <There she goes again.>

Toby:(Oh god she is heading my way. Run run run run run.) Wait. Why aren't my legs moving-

-Toby looked down too the evil power that prevented him from fleeing. Guts was firmly holding his legs in place. Likely payback for the delay. That or he was trying to help Toby face his anxieties. Probably not the last one though.

-Trish stops riiiiight next to Toby, probably uncomfortably close-

Trish: And who are you? I'm Trish!

-She was close to Toby. Too close. Toby's legs, as much as he wanted them too, would not move. It wasn't because of his nerves or anything, they told him too run, instead it was due to the evil Machop that was now trying to push Toby towards her. Toby was just glad that Guts wasn't using but a fraction of his strength.

Toby: U-uh h-hi m-my n-name is T-Toby.

Trish: Nice to meet you, Toby!

-She excitedly grabs his wrist and pulls him toward Evelyn and Alex-

Toby: N-nice to meet you too.

-Toby slapped his forhead as that was all he could say as this girl dragged him away. He felt his face heat up when she grabbed him and he was now praying that he wasn't blushing. He looked back at Guts, who was following, and caught the wicked grin his friend was giving him.-

-Evelyn smiles as Trish returns with Toby.-

Evelyn: Since you didn't give me the chance to say it earlier, Eve is fine!

-She gestures towards Toby.-

Evelyn: Is he another new trainer?

-Trish smiles that same bright smile-

Trish: I have no idea!

-She turns toward him-

Trish: Are you new?

Toby : Er, u-um yeah I guess I sort of am.

-He turns to Guts.-

Toby: And this is Guts.

-Evelyn hugs Toby.-

Evelyn: Nice to meet you, then! Still don't know your name, though!

-Trish bends down to pet Guts as Evelyn and Toby get to know each other.-

Alex interjects in the middle of everything.

"Well Iiiii'm Alex Kuma, and gonna be the greatest trainer in the world! This is my partner, Gordie."

The Cubchoo bashfully looks down.

<Hi...>

-Back home Toby was always living in the shadows of his older brothers, whom the citizens of dubbed the "Hunks of Pewter City." Compared too them it was no wonder Toby couldn't catch the eye of a single girl. Now he had some who were trying to at least be friendly too him and he was clamming up.-

Toby: Y-yeah, s-sorry. M-my name's T-toby. (They are so gonna think you have a speech impediment)

-Meanwhile Guts took the attention far better than his "brother" and gladly accepted the girls petting. Guts looked up at Toby too see him blushing madly-

-Trish giggles slightly at Alex, letting Evelyn and Toby have their own conversation-

Trish: The best, huh? You've got a loooot of competition.

-She picks up Holly, cuddling her.-

Trish: 'Cause you'll have to get through us first!

Holly: <Please put me down.>
