As some people may remember, He-man got a reboot in 2002 with redesigns, redoes on certain characters, and everything. But one has to ask, how would they have gone about this with the show's sister series (no pun intended), "She-Ra: Princess of Power"?

After all, the 2002 reboot did take away at least 2 big points that were needed in "She-Ra": for one thing, Hordak was banished from Eternia long before even Randor or Marlena were born, let alone Adam and Adora, and he and his army were banished to a place called Despondos, not Etheria.

I myself had one idea: rather than have two separate shows, Adora could stay on Eternia and aid He-man as She-Ra. It feels like it could work, if only to see how Adora interacts with the Eternian cast and how she and Adam play off of each other in terms of being siblings. Which actually brings me to another idea i had: this time around, Adora could be a no-nonsense, drill sergeant-esque princess who doesn't take guff from anybody (least of all from, say, someone like Teela), that way, we could see her acting as something of foil to Adam (who she believes was living the high life while she was being trained as soldier) and give her the character arc of learning how to relax, stop and smell the roses.

Anyone else have any ideas?

If done by the writers of "Korra" and past She-ra writers, it may pass.

[up] Hey, i was not trying to make this a complaining thread, i just had a thought about a 2002 series version of She-Ra and wondered what ideas everyone else had, this is still just a discussion

I like the idea about the She-Ra reboot being set in the same world as He-Man's since I would like to see how all the characters from She-Ra's world and He-Man's world interact with each other on a daily basis, something we don't see too often in their original series since they only visit each other in some episodes.

[up]Sadly, no. He-Man has had more success in the adult collector and nostalgia markets than he has with kids. Sad, really.

Personally, I like the original story of She-Ra. I like how it's in a setting where, unlike Eternia, the bad guy has already won, and our heroes have to watch their backs as the Evil Horde is everywhere. With a more mature writing style, She-Ra could be a good story of redemption and rebellion, overcoming almost impossible odds for a world you just a week before helped oppress.

When i started to revisit this concept, a new thought came to mind: how would the (theoretical) reboot handle the reunion scene?

In the original Filmation cartoons, the reunion was fairly simple: Adam brought Adora to the Eternian palace, he pulled the whole "close your eyes, i have a surprise for you" thing on Randor, Marlena, Duncan and Teela, and when he finally revealed Adora to all four, Teela just did the obligatory "Who's that?" while Duncan was frozen in shock and Randor and Marlena were ecstatic to the point of running up to their daughter and hugging her. Randor even told Adam that he made him "the happiest man on all of Eternia" before giving him a hug as well. This touching scene ended with Randor saying "The Royal family is back together, and i swear by the ancients that we will never be divided again".

I thought that that was a well done reunion scene, but when i try to put it in the 2002 reboot version, it just doesn't work in my head: one issue is Adam saying something stupid, another is Adora getting cold feet and running off. If the reboot ever did have Adam bring Adora back, how would the reunion go? Anyone?

On a semi-unrelated topic, there's been another He-Man 2002 related issue that's been plaguing my thoughts: a mental revision of a scene from the Pilot episode. Said scene is at the near end, when Randor is returned to the palace, i keep imagining Queen Marlena saying that she's happy/proud that Adam "turned tale and ran" during the battle, which is wrong on so many levels. Maybe this stems from me reading online somewhere that this version of Marlena would prefer to have Adam in the palace where she can take care of him, i don't know. But if that is the reason, i can at least say that i can understand Marlena's feelings (the mother's love sort of thing). However, now i'm starting to fall into the process of believing that Marlena is reason that Adam was so complacent; she mothered him to much and he got spoiled. This is bad because she's too nice a character to have something like that placed on her, but with Randor being the stern parent, i can't think of another explanation.
