Oh come now, if that were the case, Nick wouldn't have bought Power Rangers and Saban wouldn't be as cool as it is now with the deal.
Basically, if JP companies keep themselves shut in, they slowly die with no marks or achivements to show for it. Saban is different because they let Americans brodcast their work.
I'm still not sure this is a good example.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI thought Saban was a French company.
"I'll show you all of Paris, I'll take you on a tour, we'll go up and up and up so high they'll long for an encore!"Haim Saban is Jewish. The Japanese company behind Power Rangers is Bandai, and they do the merchandise. Oh, and Toei, who give Saban the license to do Power Rangers and would probably yank it away if the show ever flops.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatMaybe, but I can't see them acquiring any of the big names; unless those big names fall into really hard times.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. The only "big" video game maker I can see them buying is Capcom(due to their financial problems).
Sega is more likely at this point to be bought by Nintendo, Nintendo have billions left, Namco is doing alright(if they were bought it would probably be by Sony), Sony is #1 in the "console war" and will probably remain there for a while, Square Enix have recovered from Spirits Within(thanks to FFXIII mostly but also BD, FFX/X-2HD and their non RPG games) and Ubisoft doesn't seem like the company Disney would go for.
They have a better chance of buying out EA or Activision and both of those could buy out Disney.
For some perspective, Nintendo's total assets are ~$5.6 billion. EA's total assets are $5.07 billion. Disney's total assets? $81.241 billion, a magnitude of 16 larger.

Moon◊Yet still, why would the mouse house WANT/NEED a game company if they're making more money in the movie industry? Hell, I doubt they need more games on the shelves, they do have Infinity, which is now using Marvel heroes and Maleficent. If anything they should do what Nick did and co-op with a developer. That is what they're doing now.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDo movies generally make more money than video games?
I think as far as entertainment goes in popularity, it is ranked as:
Movies
Sports
Video Games
TV/Books

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! You also forgot internet, which is more and more globally expanded than just a movie when you know you may never go to a theater if you don't know about it. Plus, I think they're making good money with app games like The 7D's mine train app.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI don't really count the internet as most people only use it for facebook...and porn.

Nintendo is big enough that they could buy Disney. Or at least buy out one or more divisions of them.
