Seems to be more of a remake of the first game with movie-inspired bonus segments. At least, that's what I got out of the announcement.

I'm... really not fond of this decision. Particularly because the Ratchet & Clank series mostly has a loose enough continuity that you don't need to know much history to understand or appreciate any given instalment.
