Yeah, I've heard one of the new Chirpy Chips songs twice today, and the other not at all, so I don't think it's skewed towards new songs. I guess it's just an odd coincidence.

Just a little over a month before Octo Expansion drops. Still avoiding trailers and pics like mad.

I'm surprised you guys have been holding off of the spoilers this long. Surely by now you would have heard that Marina gets the chaos emeralds.

What's the date for the Octo Expansion again? I think I'm actually going to be out of town on vacation when it drops.

There's no confirmed release date more specific than "summer". A lot are speculating it will get a surprise release during E3.

I thought the release was late July.

Yeah, I'm betting sometime in the range of July 19-28, because that's the week I'll be gone so naturally that's when they would make it available.

It's a new set of gear.

Geez. S+ Rank is a whole different game. I've had an average of 1-3 Splats per game, whereas I get at least 10 Splats in most A or S games.

S+ is super intense, yeah. Although it'll probably mellow out a little when X-rank gets implemented.

X rank is implemented.

But yeah, the first time going into a new ranked block (especially S and S+) can be really tough.

Oh right, that was added in the June update. For some reason I had it in my head that it wasn't going to be put in until the Octo Expansion.

Doesn't really matter either way since I'll never make it that high.

Also, I've never seen anyone jump back to spawn to use the Sting Ray or Tenta Missiles before S+ Rank. Which is kind of odd, because it seems like such a simple but effective strategy now that I type it out. I also wonder why I never thought to do that.

Then again, I always forget jumping back to spawn is an option. Hell, I forget that super-jumping at all at any time other than right after respawning is an option.

Once I thought as you did. I'm currently S+3 rank in Tower Control. So close I can taste it... but my journey is not yet over. Or something along those lines.

The highest I've ever gotten is S+2 in Splat Zones.

Two new Ranked modes have been datamined. Eight-Ball and Rocket.

Someone has found parts of Museum d'Alfonsino in 2.

I would expect it to be in patch 4.0.

Double post: World Championships Opening Round is about to start:

We already know Inklings are in Smash, but we got some details from the Smash presentation at E3:

• Inklings can cover enemies in ink to do more damage, but have to refill by holding B while shielding
• Inkbrush, roller, blaster and splattershot are used as part of the moveset.
• Final smash is Killer Wail.
• Squid Sisters will appear as an assist trophy. They cause the screen to shrink, making it easier to KO people.
• Moray Towers (sigh) appears as a stage.
