I thought the companies in charge of keeping the film were also supposed to preserve several copies of it, no matter what?

It's a shame that any film company would treat any masterpiece like garbage. I'll try to write a letter or send an email warning them about this.

The original 70mm roadshow print of the legendary John Wayne film (the last in existence) is in real danger of becoming a lost film due to decay! Contact MGM and tell them you want this film preserved and restored any way you can, before it's too late!
