Rebel FM streamed live gameplay Saturday. Everyone was impressed. You can find it on Twitch.tv/rebelfm
I love the look and concept to this game. Hopefully it will continue to do well, I have seen to many games get torn apart by audiences that they weren't even intended for (My blood starts boiling when the dudebros attack games like this for being too cartoony)
Watched my friend play. Looks fun as hell. I hope it gets a PC port like the other Xbox Exclusives get...
Probably not for a while. Insomniac doesn't really *do* PC, from what I understand.
Anyway, this game. This freaking game. SO GOOOOOOOOOD. Serious GOTY contender for me.
but is it worth getting an Xbox one? Anything that can make me do that is Game of the year material xD

hashtagsarestupidOh, nice to hear. I was afraid this would be just a gimmick.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.If it's all you'll be playing? No. No one game can do that But if you're at all interested in the other exclusives on the platform, this is, IMO, a very, very good reason to pick up a 'bone.
I don't have an Xbone but I played at a friends place for a few hours.
The gameplay's really fun (then again I'm biased towards any game that takes influence from THPS but that's because I love that whole series [except Ride, that shit blows ass]). I'll admit it does some things wrong (the physics are way too floaty and overall its pretty easy) but despite how good the actual gameplay is holy shit it is grating.
It wants be all edgy like 90s skate shit like Video Days or some shitty as early 90s skate vid on miniVHS your bro made, but it ends up feeling like Rocket Power if it was written by the average Redditor. It's not so bad its good, its just so bad it just straight up sucks ass.
Just a quick tip, mute the in-game music, run Internet Explorer on the Xbone in the background and bring up the HTML 5 Grooveshark site on the "every Tony Hawk song" playlist (or make a Pandora station with Suicidal Tendencies, Bad Religion, Minor Threat, Pennywise, The Descendants, Nine Pound Hammer, Primus, Fu Manchu, SOAD, Bad Brains NOFX and like other skatepunk shit.) Swear to god the game becomes like 4 times better.

Not a fan then?
hashtagsarestupidOK no, not at all. Again, I don't own an Xbone but from the like 4 hours zo played at a buddies it's just really fun to play in general. It's just the tone of all the theming stuff I think Insomniac kinda screwed the pooch on.

I'm definitely inclined to disagree. I can see how the tone isn't for everyone, but I never got the sense that it was trying to be "edgy;" that's just how it is. It's full of off-the-wall humor, pokes at the 4th wall, self-deprecation, videogame satire, and references ranging from Shakespeare to Gymkata. As for difficulty, yeah, it could be tougher in general. But it rewards skilled play, and the challenges can be genuinely brutal at times.
Actually I would say it's pretty 'edgy' both its is aesthetic and content. Its violent as hell a zombie apocalypse game, and screams an in your face 'Punk-rocker rebel' Devil May Cry attitude.
It's just rather than being Grimdark and serious about it, it's all in gleefully cartoonish technicolor.
hashtagsarestupidI probably should have put the emphasis on "trying" . What I'm trying to say is that it always seemed entirely genuine to me; this is the game Insomniac really, really wanted to make, and it shows.
There certainly is a lot of love put into it. -perhaps not the most coherent of visions- but certain a lot of love
hashtagsarestupidEh, after reading that old post I made I think I kinda phrased what I was trying to say wrong.
Basically, the humor just kinda falls flat because it's either internet meme type crap, or just other really lame jokes. Obviously I don't think it should be a grimdark games, but I honestly think the humor should have gone for a more sardonic Black Comedy feel than the, I dunno 12 year old humor they went for. It's strange because the Ratchet and Clank games were pretty funny actually (though I'll admit the Future games kinda downplayed this a bunch.)
It isn't the game that was gonna sell me on the Xbone like I thought it would, but hey if I end up picking one up anyways I'd defiantly get it.

So, yeah. Go get it, if you want it.
How about this for a necro?
Sony has registered a trademark for Sunset Overdrive!
EDIT: For those asking, yes, Sunset Overdrive was (and still is) a Microsoft exclusive, but Insomniac owns the IP and can, in theory, do whatever they please. And since PlayStation bought Insomniac not long ago, that means the two companies can, hypothetically speaking, have a remastered version of the game for PS4 and/or PS5. Maybe.
...And a sequel perhaps? (Look for Sunset Apocalypse.)
EDIT 2: Threw in some "maybes" because there's probably some clauses regarding the original game's Xbox exclusivity? Or something?

I played it on PC maybe a year ago. Maybe it was exclusive, but it definitely got ported.
Yeah, I think it was Xbox and PC exclusive after all. Fixed it accordingly.
But hey, the possibility of a sequel for PS5 does spark one's imagination. One of the original game's critiques was its underwhelming story, which I thought was a shame because I liked the game's overall aesthetic. In an ideal timeline, a hypothetical sequel should be able to iron out that problem, especially in light of the Spider-Man games and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
It started as an Xbox One exclusive, and got ported to Steam four years later, so yeah, Xbox-and-PC-only for now. It's nice to hear something after so long, but I won't hold my breath until they start throwing out some teasers :x
And the reviews are coming in! Lots of 8's and 9's, a few 7's and 6's. Amusingly, is an outlier, on the low 6 side of things. Game looks fantastic, IMO.
