The optional one is on the way back from the lever that drops the Brain of Mensis? Or it’s a different one?
Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking about.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."OK.
I watched a walk through on You Tube so I couldn’t be surprised, but I wanted to make sure he didn’t miss anything.
I’m going to do the same for the Chalice Dungeons.
Just beat Amygdala on the first try. The Nightmare Frontier is basically Harvest Valley with Blighttown's swamp. I died more than a few times exploring the area. and willingly fell for Patches' trap.
Who's the ghost lady outside the boss arena in Mergo's Loft? I thought she was an enemy, but she died like an NPC when I attacked her.
The mother of the child you're actively trying to kill because it's the source of the nightmare.
Also she has the same name than the city.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Oh.
So is that just a sneak peek for the Chalice Dungeon boss, or what?
She shows up in the presence of Mergo.
yeah, pretty much.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."It took me seven tries, but I finally managed to beat Martyr Logarius . I was honestly tempted to summon for help from one of my viewers during the livestream, but I decided to keep it solo instead. What helped was getting better at reading his spellcasting tells, but towards the end I had to rely more on parrying to do most of the work for me. The worst part was having to stop and farm up more Blood Viles to use, because I'd end up using most or all of them to stay alive.
Afterwards I completed Alfred's character quest and got his rune and gestures.
This might be coming a bit late, but there is a chance to get a backstab on Logarius during his fight.
Oh, and if he manages to stick his other sword to the ground, you can break it.
And it's Blood Vials. Vile Bloods are what you either join or kill.
Yeah I learned I could back-stab him after my third fight. Also I hate typos.
So I did the first Chalice Dungeon the game gives you, after Blood Starved Beast. As you can imagine it was a cake walk with a level 64 character. Only the Giant Fire Wolf made me hesitate.
You will learn to fear Fire Doggo.
I have reached The Old Hunters. I am going to keep count of how many attempts I make of each boss (wish I'd thought to do that for the main game).
Here's an estimate for the bosses of the main game.
- Cleric Beast: 3
- Father Gascoigne: 4
- Blood-Starved Beast: 2
- Darkbeast Paarl: over a dozen
- The Witch of Hemwick: 3
- Vicar Amelia: 2
- Shadows of Yharnam: 5-6? Maybe a couple more?
- Rom, the Vacuous Spider: 3
- Amygdala: 2
- Martyr Logarius: 1
- Celestial Emissary: 2
- Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos: dozens
- The One Reborn: 3
- Micolash, Host of the Nightmare: 3
- Mergo's Wet Nurse: 2
RIP badwolf on Ludiwg.
RIP THIS MAN.
Whoops.
Accidentally killed Simon.
Rom, the Vacuous Spider took me more tries than I think that boss was worth, but thankfully not as many as Martyr Logarius did. I also killed the good Provost Willem for all the scumbaggery he committed in the setting's plot.
I beat Ludwig.
I stopped counting around eight attempts, because trying to remember how many times I'd tried was distracting. Not counting ultra-cheap deaths resulting from getting stunlocked the moment I stepped in the room, I'd say it took me about 10 tries. I beat him on my second attempt that actually reached his second phase, though.
His second phase is a lot easier due to his moves being so much less erratic. He moves like an actual person, and he's so big that his tells are that much more obvious.
And wearing the Choir Garb totally saps most of the damage he can do to you.
The Research Hall is on par with the Forbidden Woods in terms of places that are a pain to explore.
Kay, I've lost interest in the Chalice Dungeons. I got as far at Root 3 layer 2's boss before I called it quits when I beat him.
Many roots are optional, apart from finding the Workshop Haze Extractor. I mean, you could skip picking that up, but it makes getting Arcane Haze a million times easier.
Well, some roots have nice Runes to find. And some weapons with different gem slots if that's your thing.
BTW, excess ritual materials can be sold for literal tons of blood echoes, but make sure you got enough Arcane Haze before you sell all of your low tier blood, mold and additional rites.
Oh, that's how they're called ?
Yeah, that's pretty much it. a first one when entering, and an optionnal one after micholas cage.
