Molotov Cocktails turned out to be the answer, those Scourge Beasts died to 2 each. And thanks for the tip about the Hunter Set, It was really needed to help ease my mistakes. As far as starting areas go, Central Yharnam is probably the best for its intricacy. I had fun just running around to see where I needed to go next, and opening shortcuts. I also took the time to improve my parries, and I'm happy with the results. I'm no gonna say I'm great at it, but I did a lot better this time compared to my attempts yesterday. Due to my exploring, I was able to fine a Madman's Knowledge and unlock the Plain Doll for much needed leveling. I also took the time to upgrade my Hunter's Axe to +2.
After 3 tries, I even beat Father Gascoigne. I was shocked to find him because I was certain I'd run into the Cleric Beast first, but a boss is a boss and I wasn't gonna turn tail and run. I almost had him in the first fight, but I got overconfident after the amount of parries and visceral attack I landed on him and found myself unable to parry his phase 2 self. I almost called it quits after attempt 2 I'll admit, but I pushed on and managed a victory on attempt 3. I didn't use the bell either.
x2
I see. In that case, Ebrietas might be tough for you. Apparently she's the hardest boss in the base game but I've never really had trouble with her mostly because she never casts A Call Beyond. Just be ready to dodge when she's far away and lunges at you.
If you’re looking for more insight, try backtracking and finding the Cleric Beast. You get a certain amount of insight for finding, and then beating every boss.
Also, there’s another clothing set available to you from the bath messengers in the Hunter’s Dream, that I found really helpful in the early game.
In general you want to check in with both shops in the Dream to see if they got new stock very frequently.
Mostly after killing bosses or finding key items.
Oh, and most Kin (read as; alien abomination looking) enemies do not deal weel against Thrust attacks.
Actually, pretty sure nothing in Bloodborne deals well with Thrust.
Remember how in Dark Souls 2 Strike was the one damage type that only 0.1% enemies resisted? Thrust is that in Bloodborne.
Kin also don't care about serrated or holy (AKA "righteus") modifiers. Save the former for beasts and the latter for undead.
Serrated and Righteous damage are hidden stats anyway. You can go the whole game and not worry about them at all.
Killed the Cleric Beast in one try, Eventually bought a Kirkhammer. Gonna farm stones to upgrade it and the Hunter's Axe.
Kirkhammer is trash. You're better off using Ludwig's Holyblade.

You gotta start somewhere.I like the Kirk hammer, myself.
Watch SymphogearDid some Blood Stone Shard farming this morning so I could bring the Hunter's Axe to 3 and Kirkhammer to +2. I also got some Quicksilver Bullet farming on the way. I just wish I knew how to check my storage.
If you go to the vendor in the Hunter's Dream you can see how many vials and bullets you have in storage.
Thank you.
The storage box is in the dream. Use R2 and L2 to cycle between stored items and inventory.
Alternatively, you can hit square when looking at them in the messenger shop, to see how many you’re holding and how many you have stored, like any other item.

Well I got a ton of unexpected help while livestreaming. I met a nice player who helped me do some NPC sidequest stuff that involved Eileen the Crow and Hunter Djura , so I ended up fighting Darkbeast Paarl well before I was meant too. While I got Djura's Powder Keg Badge and gesture, Eileen ended up dying to Henryk due to my indecisiveness, so hers got cut short. On the bright side I got a lot done today.
Just beat the Shadows of Yharnam, on the third try no less. I had to understand that is was a safe idea to use one handed R1 combos against them due to how little stamina it really consumed even with just 20 Endurance, and that made dealing with them more manageable. I also got my Hunter's Axe and Kirkhammer to +6 and started upgrading them with bloodgems, which helps when it can.
Ok, I need more advice for Ebrietas. Because this is the first boss fight in the game that I am actually considering bad. Even the Bloody Crow, despite hanging me up for days, was fair. Ebrietas is not.
Go for stabs.
Eldritchy monsters take huge amounts of bonus hurt from thrust type damage.
Oh really when?Where am I supposed to be stabbing? Her head is six feet above mine.
I don't remember thinking Ebrietas was unfair, but she was the first boss I summoned help for (and the only one in the vanilla game I summoned help for) just for the sake of moving on, she was the last thing I did before the final fight.
It took some doing, but I opened up the way to the Nightmare Frontier, Byrgenwerth, and Castle Cainhurst. I also killed fake Iosefka after a few tries.
Right, stupid question. You said you opened the way to Byrgenwerth.
The rune you get from Fake Iosefka is invaluable if you're good at Viscerals.

Or just patient and sneaky.
Tell me about it. Free Quicksilver Bullets every parry? Yes please.
Ok, so, Mergo's Loft. There's basically only two rooms that have Nightmare Apostles in them? Is that right?
It’s garbage, because all the suggestions are to ignore Bloodtinge and Arcane on your first playthrough.
