Yeah, most crime isn't born out of pent-up aggression towards your fellow man, and basing your entire premise on that notion is stupid.
Same. If anything the Purge would actually backfire considering a massive amount of Purge-related damages and thefts that the government would have to pay off.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Yeah, the biggest problem with the idea that the purge would fix crime is the fact that crimes happen because of one of two reasons:
1) Desperation
2) Disregard for the law
The purge would not get rid of crime because it addresses neither of those problems.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseAnd with a Tarzan movie is out this weekend as well:
I like his point that the chief gorilla is absolutely right about humans. I also love how the movie's characters, supposedly experts in primatology, can't tell apes, gorillas, and baboons apart.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"pardon my french speaking upbringing but aren't gorillas apes? Coz that's what wikipedia's telling me
Same here, I'm pretty sure apes are a category of primates that include gorillas (and humans, incidentally).
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreGod I fucking love this movie but the points on Kerchek are sound.
Aww, Rosie O'Donnell dragged this poor movie into this.
That was savage.
Ape is a classification of primate that includes gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, and, depending on who you ask, gibbons. Humans are technically apes too, I think, but that's another story.
Primates can either be apes (including gibbons and humans) or monkeys. You can tell which is which by whether or not they have tails: Monkeys do, apes don't.
Also, damn, Jeremy went in on this movie. I didn't think it was that bad, but I do remember thinking, even as a little kid, that it should have ended with Tarzan going to civilization, not Jane staying in the jungle.

.... First Doug Walker, now this.
Reviews really don't seem to like this movie.
What, the Tarzan coming out now, or the animated Tarzan?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The animated movie.
Which is a shame, I think it's one of Disney's better films.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI am pretty sure most people dont like Phil Collins songs
I do. The Tarzan songs he made are some of my favorite, Son of Man in particular.
Medigo said that most people don't.
Which is dumb, because they're fucking amazing.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI know what he said. Why'd you think I answered that way?
It was less about how it sounded and more about how the singing was more narration and telling us how to feel
Mind you I havent seen the movie myself, I am just going of what I remember Doug saying
Doug Walker gave the movie a fairly positive review if I recall. I don't know what you're going on about.
Sorry, I misread.
So doug's opinion = most people's opinion?
Because like, out of the dozen or so people I've heard share their opinions on Tarzan, he's the only one who's said anything negative about the Phil Collins soundtrack.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseDid Phil Collins kill their dogs???
Did he say anything about how Phil Collins was actually bad, or just complaining that it was ham-fisted narration in lyric form?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Pretty sure it was more the narration that was the problem, not the song.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Specifically five minutes of narration in song.
It's basically a zombie movie without the zombies. Same basic premise of, "The true monster is MAN! Everyone is a remorseless, sinister monster waiting to rip the flesh from his neighbors and would descend immediately into mass homicide at the slightest provocation! EVERYONE!!!"
A philosophy beautifully rejected in The Dark Knight.
And, as noted, the people indulging in the lawless night are basically cartoon supervillains that betray the screenwriter's complete lack of understanding for what crime is and why it happens. Most people don't want to kill people. Even many criminals don't want to kill anyone.
It's an R-rated movie aimed at edgy 13-year-olds.
