Anyway, another three unlikely wmg of how this can end: 1) Ochiai pulls heel face turn because converter absorbing gauna will become something horrible 2) Ochiai "bleeds" to death while converter gauna goes off to do its business 3) Converter gauna absorbs Ochiai and gauna become much worse/better as result

I still find it bloody hilarious how tumblrites watching anime don't see the obvious romantic subtext and narratical cliches hinting to official couple of the show because it doesn't even enter into their minds it might be a thing, meanwhile they fail to see that Nagate doesn't ever actually show any attraction to Izana besides as friend, so they think Izana x Nagate is actually the official couple Even though clearly existing as Izana is suffering

Yeah, everyone knows Tsumugi x Nagate is the official couple.

Which is why I'm dreading Tsumugi ending up dead — or worse.

Seriously though, why do people who watch anime seriously think Nagate has thing for Izana? <_<

I mean, in order for him to go on date/hold hands with her, he needed to be threatened with neck bomb

Just finished up season 2. Holy hell Battle was beautiful. That... that actually just might approach The Adama Maneuver in terms of actual, genuine, awe-inspiring awesome.

Now let's just cross our fingers and hope for word on a third season. And hope my local bookstore gets around to putting volumes 10+ on the shelves.

Just finished reading chapter 77. Tsumugi sacrifices herself to save Tanikaze, who is about to die after killing Ochiai in Kanata's body. Clearly a set up for a Bittersweet Ending for the series, unless Nihei manages the Ass Pull to end all Ass Pulls.

Ya know, if this is the ending, we never will get answer for whats up with Gauna and huge baby face in Ocarina xD

Anyway, I'm hoping for bullshit tentacle alien physiology to happen D: Probably won't because sad endings are more artistic apparently, but still hoping for that

On the less sad note RIP my OTP ;-;, Ochiai went out in fittingly pathetic way. Entirely fitting for him so happy about that xD

Nihei does seem to have a thing for the protagonist's main love interest (or the closest equivalent in the absence of one) dying towards the end in his "flagship" series. I mean, the same thing happened to Cibo at the end of Blame. It's possible that short-runners are exempt, as Fuyu survives at the end of Biomega, the unnamed alien pilot in Zeb-Noid the MC is implied to have fallen in love with survives along with him, and the two Black Gaunas are pretty much all that are left of the cast of Abara.

The heck? The series has ended?! I wasn't expecting that. That was a hell of a copout about the gauna issue though. Really? That's all we're getting about this? Isn't there a distinct possibility of more gauna out there, the plot thread of gauna attempting to communicate seemed to be going somewhere, etc etc...?

So Tanikaze ends up marrying an alien girl using a body that looks (well, looked) like his first potential romance. I think Freud's head just exploded.

Wait, that's Yuhata? This isn't ship sinking, this is ships spontaneously turning into key lime pie and starting a rousing tapdance.

Well, the chapter's out.

Nihei just trolled half the audience in epic fashion. I'm dissatisfied, but I can deal with this ending. This was a fun ride, with many great moments, so I don't regret this, though I do wish we'd have had more. Farewell, Sidonia.

I do kinda wonder if this was cut bit short since we never got more info on Gauna after that weird ocarina baby face thing .-. Was wondering what was up with that

Anyway, even if there is more gauna in the universe, by clearing up this sector they are pretty much safe for life xD

And yay, bs happy ending happened :D I'm happy! Though little sad it did end up in become real human way. Though, this is also kinda creepy in a way, I think, kinda hard to tell .-.

Also, yay, beta "rejected by MC" couple xD Though wasn't expecting sex change ._.; Dunno if that is progressive or not, since this is Japan it could go both ways ._.;

As much as I love trolling shippers, I am genuinely pissed that Tsumugi was ressurected so that she could be Tanikaze's perfect waifu.

And that everybody but Lala gets to have a new body.
