On the Steam Summer sale for about 15 hours and 50 minutes at $6.74.

Tempting... might actually get myself this one. Is the multiplayer community lively though?
I'll admit it's been a while since I played it last. Let me get back to you some time within the 28 hours and 8 minutes its daily(!?) deal is seeming to indicate.
I honestly thought this would be about the Injustice Gods Among Us group led by Batman.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Good or bad?
All right Sgt Ricko, I've played a bit again, had no issue finding a server and its Steam community seems lively.
Insurgency getting...some other new entry! Seriously like, it's clearly both a port to consoles, and a remake to a new engine, and also an expansion by adding a single-player narrative? My gaming vernacular was not prepared for this.

It's an alright game from what I've played. Could have used some more equipment variety. Also the PVE bots put up a good fight, even the easy ones are seemingly an near-impossible challenge so far—won like one round out of dozens.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984^^ I really hope that putting it out on consoles too won't affect the patching schedule and such too much...
Give me cute or give me...something?I'd be more worried specifically for the console crowd after what's happened with Skullgirls and Team Fortress 2 (a patch for a console was heavily delayed just because the console's company just wouldn't approve of the patch for some reason, and no patches were released on the 360 because Microsoft wanted them as paid DLC respectively).
Insurgency's WW2 mod is becoming a stand-alone game.

A small bit on Sandstorm's features (which is to say, listing them: Story Mode playable up to 4 people, new game modes, driveable vehicles, customizable characters, unlockable cosmetic items with Steam Marketplace integration, casual and ranked matchmaking, and more)
E3 trailer. The description sounds like the narrating fellow is a U.S. veteran that is now volunteering to fight elsewhere, like those people who have signed up with the Kurds against ISIS, while the silent lady is a fighter native to the region.
Personally I'm hoping that Michael Tsarouhas voices absolutely everyone again. Yes, including the woman.

The singleplayer campaign has unfortunately been shelved. You can now sign up for alpha.

Thanks, grabbing that one for sure.
Does anyone think that Sandstorm is going to get it's own page or should I just add to the current page?
Seems doubtful to me it'd be that different, especially since the singleplayer narrative got canned.
Oh right, uh, Insurgency: Sandstorm released 3 days ago.

An FPS I've been truly enjoying. I think the simplest way to describe it would be playing RedOrchestra2 placed in Counter Strike - the classes & squads, suppression, wave-respawning, leaning and aiming systems of the former in the generally smaller map sizes, more modern weaponry and Hitscan bullets of the latter.
The multiplayer game-modes themselves rather match that comparison - Sustained Combat modes utilize greater counts of waves of respawns more like RO2 which are also affected by objectives, Tactical Operations are one-life-per-round like competitive CS, and Adversarial Combat is an in-between with one life until your team completes a objective and receives a respawn wave. It also has CoopV.AI (there were two on release but one [Hold the Line, but as long as possible] was taken down for additional work to be released again later).
I personally loved RO2 yet felt CS wasn't really my thing, on that note.
Here's a TotalBiscuit video if you'd like to see some gameplay (in this video, Tactical Operations are what Adversarial Combat was later patched to be and are now as I previously mentioned)
