Known Cities (Controlled by Loki):
- Axefest: A warrior training ground located just outside the woods, centered around a large building known as the Hall of Axes.
- Bjornheim's Grove: A forested area, home to nomadic wood-cutting peoples.
- Hammersfjord: An isolated small village located on a natural steam vent, with a decent blacksmithing culture.
- Meadsberg: A small town with a large brewhouse, before Loki's takeover it had the largest population in this region.
- The Pit of Bolgeblikk: A small village situated on top of a cavern system that is filled with iron ore.

Tomorrow I'll be spending quite a bit of time on a plane back home, so while I'll probably be able to post later in the day it's not a sure thing. So just heads up there.
Exist, pursued by bearNo worries. I'm definitely not shooting for a breakneck pace in this thing, and I was probably going to post it later in the day after I spend half the day taking care of a few things. Plus, the first day or two will just be the characters meeting each other, so no rush in any case.
I'm a bit disappointed nobody tried to submit an elf or a dwarf. Norse mythology is responsible for the popular interpretations of them.
And here I am using a creature from English lore.

Flesh is a design flaw.I posted it in the signup, but just in case it's not on your watchlist, here's the game thread.
Lem, Claw, you guys still around? Also, for the rest of you, you can work out what you want your characters to do.
I guess we can ignore them for now.
Flesh is a design flaw.Yep. Post coming today.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Sorry. Will try to post today
I switched my Power Ballad to this. I'm not sure what to post in the game right now, though I'll try and come up with something.
Exist, pursued by bearGotta say, we've got a nice variation in the elemental powers. Water/wind, earth/fire, ice, light/plants, fire and lightning/fire.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! We nearly had a necromancer in Ogard Corpse-Eater to counterbalance the light and the plants. I'm not sure what happened to him.
Edit: Is it alright if I reconfigure Xarok's physical stats? I'd like to take advantage of the Movement stat since nobody else has, and lower my strength so I don't have an empty weapon slot.

Flesh is a design flaw.I did not realize that until now, huh.
Should we move along without Claw?
Flesh is a design flaw.Yeah, just keep on going, if need be he can either be handwaved as tagging along, or retconned out.
By the way, if you guys feel "stuck" now, just agree on the place you want to go to first, and we can timeskip your journey to said place and get into the action. (You don't have to of course, I think character interaction is quite important, but it seems like no one has anything left to discuss given the silence.)
I can't come up with a snappy response about Tyr and Fenrir. I'll take the lead and get us moving though. Pack Alpha
Flesh is a design flaw.Alright, Styg's the only one who's responded since Wednesday - is anyone else still even around?

I'm here, I just have writer's block.
Exist, pursued by bearI'm here still, I'll get around to posting eventually.
Did you want us all to post again, because I thought we were going to time skip or something. I wasn't really sure what to post.
You don't have to. If you're okay with the current destination (the mines) and can't think of anything to post, I'll just go ahead and timeskip you guys all to just outside that region.
Do it. Let's see if it knocks anything loose.
Flesh is a design flaw.

Here, have a discussion thread! I'll start the RP up tomorrow. For now, I'll list the five places near where you start, and maybe you can start thinking about where you want to go first. I'll give you a day or so to do your introductions to eachother and whatnot (unless you want to skip that?) and then there'll be a quick timeskip to you guys approaching the location of your choice.
You can learn the location of new places during the game, which can let you find more people, resources, or cool magical stuff that you can use to stab people. While for the most part it'll be up to you to
drink aroundinvestigate to find new locations that need some viking-themed rescuing, as well as what cool things they contain, I threw you a bone and gave you a basic description of each. you a quick rundown. For these five places (or any other place you discover, really, unless otherwise indicated) you can figure that they all have a basic infrastructure to survive, and can defend themselves from wildlife, though they would need some extra help against enemy attacks. Above that, they can have one or more things you can find useful. Some places will have extra people or warriors. Extra people are roughly equivalent to player characters with an F rank in their stats, and are like footsoldiers/grunts, and it takes maybe ten, fifteen, or more of them to be a match for one player character. Warriors come in dozens of different flavors, and can have higher ranks in multiple categories, or know magic, and are more powerful due to that. There can also be heroes, legendary beasts, and (magic) sentient animals that can be really strong.
All of them will be forces you can use to make your own army, which will be helpful when you start going after big cities, fortresses, temples, and other well-defended areas. Some places will have resources, like metal, wood, forges, schools, and the like, which you can use to train people, upgrade their weapons and armor, and stuff like that. You can find fortresses where the gods or other figures have been imprisoned, areas holding
epic lootmagical items, spell scrolls, shout walls, legendary weapons, enchanted armor, and other similar neat things.edited 25th Mar '14 1:50:55 PM by nman
