... has anime EVER been "mainstream" here though?

The closest it came was when Pokemon, Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon were all airing at the same time, and Classic Toonami was still a thing.

If Reugger meant anime imports gave TV stations something to run instead of classic cartoon reruns, he may have a bit of a point (in which case, I'd say what's being "stolen" is their market share, as anime imports and Looney Tunes don't have much in common). Still, WB has shot themselves in the foot in this regard by so severely restricting access to their classic material. Looney Tunes airtime has been severely restricted ever since WB released their Golden Collection DVD's . Even if they aren't going to offer syndicated packages of their classic material, CN and Boomerang have 24-hour schedules. They could, you know, NOT run 8 hours of Gumball or Teen Titans Go and perhaps have an hour block of Looney Tunes in the morning and in the evening. I for one would really like to see them dump King of the Hill (and I wouldn't feel bad to see Family Guy and American Dad go away either) and run an hour of Looney Tunes in evening before going to Adult Swim.

It looks like just a string of poor decisions one after the other. The Time Warner merger shut down all Looney Tunes merchandise (remember The Looney Tunes Stores??), and that merger was a disaster anyway!

I remember there were Warner Bros. stores, like there were Disney stores. I didn't know that there were specific Looney Tunes stores.

They were usually open in malls. I went to one frequently in my childhood days that had a gigantic screen playing in the back. I defy any store besides Disney or Nintendo or LEGO to open a store as elaborate as those anymore!

@kyun You mean the AOL Time Warner merger, right? They closed in 2001, which is when that specific merger happened.

As for the new clip, Porky's beefier design is rather odd but their characterization of Daffy is absolutely on point. I can't wait to see an episode with him and Bugs interact.

that porkier Porky is suppose to be based on the VERY old Porky design.

I don't know that screwball Daffy every interacted with Bugs at all, in any of the classic shorts. There was one, one of the Porky-Daffy teamups, where Porky and Daffy were trying to escape from a hotel without paying their bill, and Bugs shows up at the end. They don't really interact mch though, he just delivers the closing joke.

I really liked the old Porky-Daffy team. I hope, if they're reintroducing the characters, the do more in that vein. I've been a bit disappointed with Wabbit thus far.

So, this show is evidently back somewhere - retooled as a general Looney Tunes show (complete with Merry Go Round Broke Down as the theme now).

The first episode is a Daffy fest: he's in all three segments, even the Bugs Bunny one.
