If you were a kid who grew up in the 90s you may or may not remember a video series called National Geographic's Really Wild Animals, it was basically a Nature Edutainment program long before Zoboomafoo...Heck it was on before Kratts Creatures! Since there is a National Geographic page I think this series deserves a page of it's own

It was a very sophisticated Edutainment show for the time, a blend of live action footage and Animation (Mostly in the form of our Guide Spin an Animated Globe voiced by the Late Dudley Moore) And had songs written for them Alan O'Day who was a number 1 pop song writer of the 70s)

This show has special connections for me because when I was a tyke on a whim I brought one of my tapes to school (I was in a special ed class in those days) We showed in during TV Time my fellow students loved it, and the teacher quickly ordered other episodes after he returned my video to me

This was the episode I brought that day...Does this show ring a bell with any Tropers? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D56a-BAb7XA

Ding Ding. Though nowadays I want someone to redub that globe's dialog with all the Dudley Moore jokes from The Critic.

I never watched The Critic so I wouldn't be in the know but you have to admit most of the songs are Crowning Music of Awesome...Even today as an Adult I still think they rock which is more then I can say for Barney and Friends

My mom ordered the videos for me and my brothers. We had a crap ton of them. Seriously, there were like 20 odd videos in our collection.

[up][up]All the jokes were about Moore acting like Arthur even when not in a film.

In the commentary, they acknowledge that Dudley Moore jokes aren't so funny anymore.

Well I think this show is deserving of it's own page. I only got 5 of the videos in my childhood, the original three Swinging Safari, Wonders Down Under and Deep Sea Dive, then I got Adventures in Asia and Dinosaurs and Other Creature Features
