Justice Avengers: A Black Day in Hub City

Hitting another car wasn't a problem- Slade could just get another car. The problem was the person that was inside the car he had just hit. Silvermane, the person Black Tarantula had been hired to kill. Shit. Shit shit shit. Slade decided to just stay in the car, and watch Tarantula's reaction to Silvermane's appearance.

"Stay calm." He told Tarantula, like he didn't knew who Silvermane was, keeping a hand on the wheel and one on the pistol. "<He doesn't know us, and you don't know him.>"

Having your head and shoulders outside a car window is not the best place to be when you're about to get in a car crash. BT learned this the hard way when his car and the next collided horrendously. He was thrown forward and backward, with metal and glass mashing into his face, his neck bones crumbling and the edges of the window cutting into his flesh.

When Silvermane picked up the car and tossed it away, BT dangled there for a moment, limp and seemingly lifeless. Then, there was a spark. Then came another, and another, as little bits of electricity darted across his face and shoulders, to the point where he was nearly covered in electricity. The shards of glass were pushed out of his face. His bones slotted back into place. He rolled over, groaned quietly. His left arm fumbled for the handle, and pushed open the door. BT staggered out into the road, hunched over and clutching his head. All he knew was that he'd come inches close to dying, everything hurt like hell, and there was a man shouting and ranting at the top of his lungs.

"Oh my god, will you SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY?!"

The reporter and cameraman scrabbled into the booth on Lomax's say so, though the reporter tried to look as calm and professional as possible

"Ronnie, tell me you've got that camera working."

"Ready and waiting. We're on in eight seconds. Five...four...three..."

A couple of seconds later, the reporter turned to the camera. "This is Myra Connelly for KBEL News. I'm here at Kwikee Burger where a hostage situation is underway. The man in charge of the operation has announced he'd like to give a message to the people, and here he is now."

"Really?" White looked up. "Is that from them...or from you?"

White turned around, revealing his gruesome visage.

"'cause y'see, I got a little curious about the whole thing." He wandered over to Will. "Wanted to know why the Posse would be wanting to know about a little ol' juvie hall. So I did some looking, searched through files, talked with my boys, and finally found the contact d'tails for that old agency. Called 'em up, got myself through to the higher ups, and you know what? Funniest thing... They didn't know a damn thing about the case."

White stopped centimetres away from Will, and stared him down with beady little eyes, while breathing through his teeth.

"You misled me, Willy," he said. "You got selfish. Thoughtless. Thought you'd go and use my services, my generous aid, all for your own needs and desires... Do you know what a remora is, Willy?"

Without even thinking, Silvermane, whose suit was now catching fire, swung around and punched whoever the fuck just yelled at him as hard as he could.

Hush rubbed his chin, looking at the old device Spiral gave to him. He reached over to change one of the switches, but stopped halfway.

"Who are you? You're obviously more than a simple mutant."

"Name's Spiral, hun, Secretary to CEO of the #1 media station family in all the known universe, the Mojonet!" she introduced herself. "And yes, you're probably the second person I met who mistook me for a mutant of your species, but really my race just looks similar to yours. Whitemane's Law of Infinite Randomization and all that. I'm more feline-rodent mix than primate.

"Also, the teleportation feature sends target straight to you, so I'd rather not activate that inside this room unless you want to feel like the inside of a pressurized can," she added. "Though it would make great material for the outtake reel!"

BT reeled backwards from the punch. Then he rounded on Silvermane with a snarl, and, with the strength to bench press 25 tonnes, he grabbed the mechanised mob bosses arm and swung him into the ground.

Silvermane pulled himself out of the street and, now that his rage actually had a target, he was starting to cool down. Physically, at least. Not that it stopped him from grabbing Black Tarantula and running with him through the nearest brick wall. After all, the guy put his hands on him.

When Lobo's vision finally came back, the first thing he saw was the last person in the galaxy he'd ever want to see again. What Lobo saw was a small, elderly woman with a similar complexion to his own.◊ It was Miss Tribb, his fourth grade teacher and the very last Czarnian he had killed. Seeing her again sent several emotions going through Lobo's head; the first being fear, followed by confusion, then an unholy fury. "DAMMIT I KILLED YOU! Just like I killed all of those obnoxious fraggin' bastiches back on Czarnia! Hell, I did it with my own hands. HOW THE HELL'D YOU SURVIVE THIS TIME?" Instead of giving the elderly Czarnian a chance to reply, Lobo begain swinging wildly at her Illusion with his hook, refusing to give her a chance to speak.

Morgan was surprised ad Lobo's inhumanly strong will and brute strength and though to herself....

"Usually even the strongest of mortals remain mute and motionless for weeks ...King Arthur himself was mute for a month and he is going to break my illusion already ."

But she wanted to taunt Lobo an said the following while laughing a bit nervously.

"aww so your biggest fear is a feeble old teacher and you call yourself main Man? , you are more like the Main child"

She knew trowing rocks wouldn't hurt Lobo so easily. She whispered another spell "succendam ignem in petris" and infused her stones with magic that made them explode with contact to make them more deadly. She couldn't trow rocks as fast or as precisely as the real Terra could and she knew they would be easier to dodge for lobo than Terra's rock. But she was arrogant enough to try it anyway.

She raised both of her hands and used her magic to raise two magical stones from the ground and waited until Lobo snapped out of the illusion to begin her attack...

"Wow," Terra said as she watched the fight between Silvermane and Black Tarantula, but then spotted Slade and pointed him out to Karate Kid. "See if you can sneak up to him."

Will shrugged his shoulders weakly while he courted his fear just enough to look convincing. “Please do not jump to conclusions. After all, Will Davidson did not spring from the ether. He was given identity and employment by the same people that send him here today. Will is, as you are, a servant to their wishes.” He said, taking a nervous step back. “If they insist they have no knowledge of what Will Davidson is here to do, it is not my place to ask why. Instead of the remora, think of the Egyptian Plover. Perched inside the alligator’s mouth and averting its ire by collecting scraps. We are brothers in that regard.” He said, spreading his arms placatingly. Of course, the Posse was a widely benevolent organization, having grown out of a grassroots movement to shuttle magic users in need to safety. And while they did have a large part in attaining Will’s documents, they asked for very little in return.

The journey through a brick wall gave a substantial amount of aching to BT's back. Nevertheless, he rolled himself off the ground, and grabbed the nearest smashed bricks. He punctuated the following sentence by hitting him around the head with the bricks.

"You NEED...to BE...CONSIDERATE...of OTHER...DRIVERS...YOU...COULD have...SMASHED...my HEAD in...YOU...UTTER...PRICK!"

Finally, he boxed both Silvermane's ears at once.

White pushed his fingertips into his head and screwed his eyes shut.

"Will- Will. You're doing the third person thing again. Stop it." He paced about the room. "You can salad dress your case in fancy pontificating and nonsense metaphors all you like, you're not fooling anybody but yourself."

He dropped into his chair. "If you want to be an Egyptian Plower or whatever the hell you're saying, then you're gonna have to put some work in. You're gonna have to do more for me, more picking scraps, more gathering, more clean-up, more from your side of the relationship. Because right now, it's all take for you, and I'm doing all the work here. Now, to me, that's making you look like a remora. A shark-sucker. Now, I don't appreciate people people sucking my blood, sucking my money, sucking my free time. In fact, the only time I appreciate a shark sucker is when their lips are wrapped around my bone white cock!"

He slammed his hands on the table.

"...Now...Is there anything else you'd like to discuss."

Silvermane sat up slowly, cracking his neck. He had never fought using this body before, so it was going to take some getting used to. On the plus side, now he knew it was more or less impossible to feel pain. As he began making his way to his feet, he spoke.

"First off, your car hit mine. So, if anything, Wilson needs to watch where he's going." Some small part of Silvermane's brain told him to respect Wilson's secret identity, but he shook it off quickly enough. "Second..." and then, a leg that could shatter a steel door tried to field-goal kick Black Tarantula in the nuts. "Fuck you, I'm Silvio Manfreddi."

Lonnie continued to monitor events around town using his super-computer.

Who were those fighting near a car wreckage? (does a quick search) Oh, Silvermane and the Black Tarantula. Criminal scum, both. Maybe they'll kill each other off, save me some trouble later, he grinned.

Then he noticed Lobo seemed to be battling Terra, except she was exhibiting unusual powers such as multiple illusions of herself. What was up with that? Better observe more closely...

Will crossed his arms and looked Warren over for a moment after his outburst. He hadn’t been shut down like that in a while. It was extremely irritating, but it was also rather humbling. The Posse chose their allies well. “I am sorry you feel that way.” He said in a less slovenly tone. “But there is a great deal at stake and not nearly enough grease for its considerable wheels.” He rubbed his fingers together a motion signifying money, before splaying his hand out toward the man. “Pray tell, what does it need cleaned up?”

Two Face blew a puff of smoke out of his mouth and put out the cigar.    "I like this red guy, he can take a hit, and it's rare we see someone with that much pure rage."   

"We could use an ally with local connections till we get settled in. What about the other guy?"

   "Eh, not as impressed by him."   

"Why, because he didn't turn into a robot and start dropping F-bombs? He could be a more reliable ally. Other guy seems to have anger issues."

   And we don't?    Two Face chuckled at that as he took out a coin and flipped it.    Alright then.    he snapped his fingers, and his goons walked up holding assault rifles. "Alright." he said quietly so the other guy wouldn't hear him. "Soon as you get a clear shot, open fire on the guy that's not glowing red." The goons nodded and started watching for an opening.

From not too far away, the Scarlet Spider was watching everything that was going on with Terra, Lobo, Silvermane, Black Tarantula, Two-Face, etc. Spiders were pretty good at staying still and watching things, she was pretty damn good at acting like a spider. She was waiting for just the right moment to decide to kick someone's ass. The moment came and went a few times over the course of the last ten minutes, but she was saving it. She knew that as soon as she exposed herself, there wasn't really anything she could do to get hidden again except run, so she had to make this count. This was technically going to be her first time taking on a big supervillain. Before it was just petty criminals that she would cripple or kill. This was going to be higher profile.

She took the opportunity to use her stealth and take some photos with her phone.

After a few seconds of non-stop violence, Lobo eventually realized that he wasn't dealing with the real Miss Tribb. Mainly because she hadn't said anything during her brutal disembowelment, the real Miss Tribb would have been insulting his intelligence despite being torn to pieces. When Lobo was finished realizing what was going on, he stood up and started stomping over to where he had dropped his shotgun.

The sorceress was a bit nervous but she used the time lobo was under a spell to infuse some rocks to make them deal magical damage if they hit lobo.She hadn't' fought in a long time with an opponent as tough as lobo and then she realized she was being carried away...

"I hadn't have this fun in centuries... But my sister will know I am here, it will be wise to control myself... for now" she thought to herself.

She tried to imitate Terra's hand movements and then threw a rock at Lobo while he was picking his shotgun. She wasn't used to manipulate rocks with magic and it seemed to taker her some effort and concentration making the first magical rock she threw towards Lobo very slow and sloppier in comparition to Terra's masterful and natural control of them.

BT was sent flying through the air by that kick, and crashed into a filing cabinet in the corner of the room. There he lay, partly in tremendous pain, and partly stunned from the revelation.

"...Manfredi?" He squeaked. "...How the flying fuck are you still alive? I heard...your car...nobody could... Why are you a robot now?"

"How good of you to ask."

White plucked a file off the desk and span around, flicking through the pages.

"Lessee now...-no, not him...that one's too big...too scrawny...might wanna cop a feel lateraHA!" He wheeled back around, waving a sheet in the air. "This one seems your speed."

He slapped the sheet down on the desk. Attached to it was a mug shot of a silver-haired gent with a pink eye mask, goatee and pencil moustache.

"His name's Eduardo Flamingo. One of the strangest things to ever drop out of Gotham's ass. The mob moulded him from an ordinary schnook into a hired gun with an impeccable kill-streak. Side effects included an appetite for people's faces, or so I'm told. Past few weeks, he's needed me to hook him up with mobsters. Trouble being, paying me back for my services doesn't seem to register in that fruitcake brain of his."

He tapped the sheet. "Now...I'm not saying you gotta do it. I'm saying you'd better do it, if you wanna get on my good side. I want my money. I don't care how you do it, but if you get him to give up what he owes me..." He held up his hands, and gave what might have been a smile. "Then we'll call it even."

It took Silvermane a few seconds to react to what BT was saying. "It was you...." he muttered, barely over a whisper. Then, he was bright red again, murder in his eyes, screaming at the top of his lungs. "YOU TRIED TO KILL ME, YOU SUNNUVABITCH!" And if something didn't distract him, Silvermane didn't see how he wasn't going to strangle BT until his head popped off like a wine cork.

"Ah ah ah."

Silvermane would feel his arms being pulled back by a tremendous force. That was the force of webbing, strong than steel, pulling on his arms. The maker of those webs, Spider-Girl was behind Silvermane, glaring at him.

"I can't let you kill him. That's my job."

Silvermane was angry beyond words at this point, and he just let out a guttural roar, pulling up and forward with all his strength, hoping to flip her over and bring her crashing to the cement in front of him.

Lonnie stared at his computer screen somewhat worried; Silvermane, it appears, was more powerful -and unpredictable- than he had expected him to be. He decided it was a factor that had to be eliminated from the game. He began to make plans for that, but for now, he continue to watch.

Spider-Girl let herself be swung forward, but then used the arc and the strength of the web to pull Silvermane's body up off the ground in the same way, and swing him over her head to come slamming down onto the ground.

"I dig the Cyborg look, but if you were a real man, I might actually be intimidated by all that throbbing rage."
