Joined Company of Champions. GREAT for farming. When you're early and all you have is Lost Bastille. Now, I just have to figure out how to beat the little dwarves in Belfry Luna. Forgot I had Lingering Flame and tried to poison them with the moon butterfly pants from the ladder. They started shooting me with arrows.
Ah yes, the Belfry midgets. Annoying little fuckers, but running in circles and trying to pick them off that way is effective, but getting up the ladder without dieing is the tough part.
Also, running in circles for your life away from tiny madmen is comical. Throw in some Yaket Sax and...
So, for reference, how hard would it be to beat the Lost Sinner while hollowed, without the lights on, and no phantom backup? Because unless one of the Bastille dogs drops a effigy, that's how I'm going in.
How much hollowed?
Then again, the ring that reduces the HP penalty makes that a dumb question.
Not sure how difficult it will be though. The lights being out means you'll lose your lock on her easily, which can be a bother, especially when she leaps towards the ceiling.
If you have one of those burning butterfly things, you can use it to light a torch and increase your visibility and lock-on range.
If things get desperate, the dogs in the Bastille have a rare chance of dropping Effigies.
I thought I'd try taking on Befry luna first, but since i can't even go past the midgets, it'll be hard. Yearn doesn't work on them, and they move faster than those mummy things, so blasting them at range is hard.
if you have some proficiency fighting bosses without a lock on, the lost sinner is not made especially more hard by darkness. otherwise...better to find an effigy so you can summon npc help, and they can distract the sinner while you wail on her
COMPANY OF CHAMPIONS ROCKS! So much farming to be done! And yay for Soul Appease! kills suicide zombies dead! Like the one's outside of Straid's Bonfire.
Anyway, managed to get to level 106 thanks to farming, and managed to beat the Sinner, the gargoyles, the chariot and the skeleton lords, who are a joke. The BONE WHEELS are the true bosses of that stage! thank goodness for Yearn.
Shaded Woods is looking awful and the Gutter is so damned dark, so doing Harvest Valley for now.
General Question, are Ultra Greatswords worth getting your Strength that high for? Or do they cost too much stamina to be really worth it? I can use the one I have now if it two-hand it, but it's so slow.

Ultra Greatswords are nice if you can get used to their movesets.
After a lot of trial and tribulation, I finally got a Cloranthy Ring+2. The hardest thing about it was getting to the boss, and it cost me a lot of souls on the way. Now my Powerstance Greatsword built has even less stamina issues.
Where DID you get that ring?
Executioner's Chariot after a Bonfire Ascetic.
Ouch. Yeah, that's a tough one. Are there more skeletons and necromancers, or do they just get stronger?
They were just stronger.
During the Covetous Demon fight, can you lock onto the jars above or do you need to aim manually?
Awesome, I just beat the Fume Knight with a Sorcery character. Used nothing by Soul Spear and Crystal Soul Spear.
Have fun with the Iron King Crown; it restores spell charges every few minutes when worn!
I forgot it had that ability. No harm in using it, its not like I have better things to wear.
I love that crown. But that's obvious coming from the magic user obsessor. :P
Oh, a feller Sorcery preference player?
Why yes.
Sorcery and rapiers (or other fancy one handed swords) for me, please!
Okay, beating the iron king crown DLC before going for the other areas. I NEED that crown!
That said, are the dlc a huge difficulty spike? I'm at Brume tower, and so far the Ash warriors are manageable (I HATED that all one knights are immune to Yearn!) there's this thing in the first drop shaft walk around with its weapon on fire that screams 'PAIN IN THE ASS'. How hard is he rest of the dlc?
Each is harder than the base game areas.
Oh all the DLC is hard. You might want to consider leaving it for endgame.
Anyhow, dug up the deets for the Crown but I'll just quote the interesting parts here:
- Gives Vendrick's Blessing when worn after collecting all 4 crowns and speaking with Vendrick.
- Every two minutes the Crown is worn, 20% (rounded up) of maximum spell uses will be restored. Note that this means that the minimum number of spells restored is "1".
- For example if you cast Crystal Magic Weapon when it has total uses of 1, this "1" use will be restored within 2mins!
- Obtaining this crown and the King's Crown expands King Vendrick's dialogue in Memory of the King.
What's a "covenent"Company of Champions exists in Vanilla/Last Gen. Never used it much myself, or at least enough to remember anything specific.
I believe it cancels enemies from de-spawning though? Maybe not for any "unique" enemies that are meant to spawn only once.
