"Stealth Release?" Augh... see, this is why I never find out about DC Animated Movies until months if not years after they get released.
Anyway, it features the modern Justice League facing off against the Legion of Doom for Superfriends, because it seems like DC's animation writers just can't let the Legion of Doom go.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.i hate to be an art critic, but that box art is looking weeeeeak. nothing about it really grabs my attention and says "hey, this an interesting movie."
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I hadn't taken a close look at the box art.
Interesting - it looks like Robin is in it. That's a surprise. It seems to be Tim Drake, but they could be pulling the "Dick Grayson with Tim's costume" bit again.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. For a second I thought this was part of that Superfriends toyline.
Karate Kid? That's...different.
Also, Volpe seems to consider this film canon with the Green Lantern show. Not officially, just as part of his head canon.
EDIT: If this is a time travel adventure, then Karate Kid actually makes sense.

Target's in a whole heap of shit over getting hacked. Already had to get my card replaced. And the movie is Target exclusive? Fuck that.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Looking at that cast list, this is like a mini Avatar reunion.
But I'm actually interested in this.

So this is basically that one Superfriends time-travel episode with the Legion of Superheroes involved.
OK, my interest in this has been aroused by the use of Legion of Superheroes mythology, especially the Time Trapper. Too bad there are no Target stores anywhere near I live...

I have to admit that I don't mind that Karate Kid is in it- I've always had an odd soft spot for him (although I hated the treatment they gave him in the Legion of Superheroes animated series), but... Dawnstar? Of all the characters they could have picked out of the Legion's massive roster, why Dawnstar? She has wings and can track people. Yay?
Oh well. Will probably check this out at some point, although that may not be saying much, since I've pretty much inevitably checked out all the DC animated stuff sooner or later.

Sadly, I think this time we won't see Lex getting GL's ring, boasting of being "The Green Luthor!" and then doing nothing with it...
Haven't seen this yet, but I have found a review.

"The single best fight, though, and an early contender for my favorite thing to happen in animation this year, was the slapstick fight scene when the Legion of Doom and the Justice League went back in time and pretty much played super-powered football with Baby Superman."
...I need to go to Target.
Just finished it.
It's fun and enjoyable. The animation is excellent and the plot, while suffering from faulty time travel logic, has the advantage of telling a mostly original story. There is a lot focus on Karate Kid and Dawnstar, but they're likable enough that I didn't think it was a problem.
Why only at Target!
How else will the internet get your credit card?
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsOr you could use cash...
Just saw it. This is DEFINITELY a Super Friends homage- right down to being a bit too silly in spots (why did Cheetah and Grundy even bother to disguise themselves? They looked so stupid! ) The producers said this was meant to fit audiences in-between Teen Titans Go!'s and Justice League: War's, but other than the action and animation quality, this could have been an episode of the original Super Friends. Which is not entirely bad- heck it was fun, for the most part, but there were so many plot holes that I just could not ignore them (in particular, even if it was Superman who founded the League, that would not have prevented the other heroes origins, and they sure as heck would not just let supervillains rampage.) My favorite part was Dawnstar and Karate Kid, these were the best versions of them I've ever seen. (Thought I kind of feel their new powers were unnecessary, but still.)
From that interview with the creators:
two things to say about this movie:
1. the box art doesn't do this movie justice.
2. loved the Sequel Hook at the end.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.... must... stop imagining... Sokka as Robin...
Lots of Hey Its That Voice in this movie. Dawnstar is Serah from FF 13/13-2 <3
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!anyone else point out that Time Trapper is Avatar Roku?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Time Trapper is Corey Burton. Roku is James Garrett.

Well this is a surprise. A new Justice League movie is getting a "stealth release" next week at Target, produced by Giancarlo Volpe of Green Lantern The Animated Series and Avatar The Last Airbender fame. http://www.worldsfinestonline.com/2014/01/target-exclusive-jla-adventures-trapped-in-time-movie-hitting-dvd-january-21st-2014/
It's got a number of returning voice actors from past DC productions it looks like, with Diedrich Bader and Jason Spisak.
