Solid Snake kept you waiting too long.

Considering that it was Naked Snake in the last Nintendo Metal Gear game (or port, but that's been the case ever since the NES), and Kojima is currently working on MGSV, I think it's more likely that we'll get Big Boss instead of Solid Snake. Will that count as a newcomer, though?

Is Solid Snake different from Naked Snake?

Now there's a philisophical question.

I say they add Solidus and give him that intro in Sons of Liberty with the awesome Evil Overlord cape that gets burned off to reveal his real outfit for the game.

Thing is, Solidus is the one Snake who's never been on a Nintendo console, unless you count the phone call at the end of The Twin Snakes. Which I don't, because you only hear Ocelot's end of the conversaiton.

Yes and no. At the end of MGS 4, Big Boss clearly states that Solid Snake is the man who did everything right that Big Boss did wrong; that Solid is the only one who truly lived The Boss' will, while Big Boss and Zero just turned it into a perverse meme. But you asked about Naked Snake, not Big Boss. Solid Snake is the man Naked Snake could have been, and person the man he was, before he became Big Boss. Solid Snake and Big Boss are two very separate individuals; but Solid Snake is very much the man Naked Snake could have been.

Perhaps they could do an alternate for each Snake? (This is assuming, of course, that alternates are a thing, and that they would make that many.)

I don't think ports count as actual Metal Gear games...

I figure they are a Metal Gear game, just the same Metal Gear game that came before.

Except Metal Gear for the NES, obviously.

Seeing as Snake is in Brawl in the first place, they must.

Why can't this happen on a not awful channel?

Oh come on, how can a lineup of nothing but 1,000 Ways To Die, fake "reality" television, and infomercials not be the best fucking channel on TV?

I hate to say this, but I've never played an MGS game. Unfortunately, my first exposure to the game was watching Dark Syde Phil play it, and that turned me off.

My experience was through Hiimdaisy making me feel like it's an interesting game, so I went and watched it on the Longplay channel.

Nah, the reveal is going to be that Reggie himself is playable in the next Smash game, in true fulfillment of the "My body is ready" meme.

I honestly can't imagin Dark Side Phil turning one off of anything but his own channel.

I doubt Nintendo's big announcement is just Snake. I'm guessing we'll see footage of the W Ii U Zelda since it's just long enough to not take the wind out of ALBW's sails. And maybe a new metroid.

Didn't they Nintendo already say they wouldn't show Zelda U before E3? Not that it wouldn't be completely awesome.

And I would love to have a new Metroid game, its been friggen 6 years since Prime 3 came out. Nintendo keeps this up and they'll start turning into SE with their release schedule.

Yes. It has been six years since Prime 3, the last metroid title. Prime 3 was the previous game to be released and there have been none since. None.

What if they finally announce Metroid: Dread?

I would kill for a Metroid 3DS title. It'd be really cool if they did a dual launch like Prime/Fusion with Dread/Metroid U.
