This game's from Paradox Interactive and we have a thread for that company that's full of CK 2 and Europa Universalis 4 talk.
Posting this here instead of the Paradox thread - got this presser from Paradox:
Crusader Kings II Turns Three, Outliving Hundreds of Inconvenient Nephews New Infographic Shows Tens of Thousands of Players Still Scheming, Week Long Sale Begins Today
STOCKHOLM – February 13, 2015 – This weekend, Paradox Development Studio is marking the third anniversary of its much-loved medieval grand strategy game Crusader Kings II. Since its release in February 2012, Crusader Kings II has become a game recognized worldwide for its clever mixture of high politics, low scheming, immersive role-playing and thrilling stories. That’s three years of usurping thrones, marrying for power, converting pagans and throwing heirs off of parapets. The royal life is a challenging one.
Data compiled by the studio shows that Crusader Kings II has sold 1.1 million copies of the base game and over 2.5 million copies of its various expansions. If you include the cosmetic DLC for sale, that adds up to over 8 million add-ons for the base game. Over the last year of its lifetime, Crusader Kings II is still averaging over a hundred thousand monthly active users on Steam – a clear sign that a vast audience is still finding something special in what has sometimes been seen as a “niche” title.
Our spymaster has put together an infographic filled with even more sales and player data on Crusader Kings II as well as a timeline showing how CK 2 has grown from a county to a kingdom over the last three years, view it here:
“We continue to be overwhelmed by the popularity of Crusader Kings II,” says lead designer Henrik Fahraeus. “For many thousands of people, this is their first Paradox game, and people continue to tell us about the rise and fall of their dynasties and empires. Our games at PDS have always been about stories, but Crusader Kings II gives you characters sometimes doing petty things on a grand stage. I think people like that.”
To celebrate this anniversary, Paradox is offering a week’s worth of special discounts on a selection of Crusader Kings II related products at the official webstore and select partners: https://www.paradoxplaza.com/games/featured-deals

Should I get both the Customization and the Ruler Designer packs? Or does Customization just cover what the Ruler Designer does?
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"They're actually prtty different. The only real similarities are changing coats of arms and haircuts.
Which DL Cs would you recommend someone on a budget grab? I like customization, but I've mostly been playing with the Go T mod so it isn't TO important in the long run of things- Way of Life was strongly recommended but it's the only other one I've looked at besides Ruler Creator and the Customization pack.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"I'd recommend waiting for the Steam Summer Sale, when pretty much everything Charlemagne and older will be on sale.
You're over three months too late with that.
No, he isn't. Check the date.
Whoops, thought the following posts were a response to that one.
So, checked by Gamersgate account and found I have the game and every expansion ever released for it, thanks to not checking my library. As a reviewer, I got sent stuff there to review and I hadn't checked in a long while.
Yay?
Also how old is this thread? The Paradox Games one is the main place of discussion for this game.
OK. I only a search foor Crusader Kings rather than start a new thread.
So I've started playing this particularly difficult game after having started with the fairly straightforward Civilization games, anyhow I saw there was a thread for them but not this game, so I thought I'd change that.
Since I'm currently playing the vanilla version I’m wondering about the expansion packs and mods, what mods and expansion packs is everyone playing?
New theme music also a box
