Crimson Typhoon: The Dragon With Three Heads

And who knows, maybe if we make it work right it'll help clue us in how to shut down the other breach, too.

Pick one of the following plot chapters (these may or may not unlock additional techniques or upgrades for later):

• Crimson Typhoon - Hurricane Rising
• Horizon Brave - Life Before
• Shaolin Rogue - Skeleton Memories
• Meanwhile, in Alaska...

Due to the high level of respect for the Hong Kong Shatterdome (it has increased from 'Good, and heavily increasing' to 'Great!' and Hong Kong is now Rank 2), you get four actions which can be used across the following options:

• Arrange to spy on one of the other seven Shatterdomes
• Request a transfer, to receive one of the Jaegers from one of the other Shatterdomes in exchange for resources. If you send them a Jaeger of your own, this becomes a free action
• Analyze slain Kaiju and create new training programs for Jaeger pilots, allowing more unorthodox tactics and maneuvers (such as 'Charge' or 'Leap')
• Apply newly discovered metal alloys to one or all Jaegers under your jurisdiction (+1 resistance to Impact for the Jaeger in question, each Jaeger = 1 action)
• Continue research into the Artificial Breach Project (currently 01/15 actions complete)
• Attempt to research new upgrades, techniques or weapons that can be applied to the Jaegers (suggestions or specific ideas are welcome)

Below are the other Shatterdomes in order of 'Respect' (not necessarily 'importance', though - while Tokyo and Hong Kong are both two of the oldest Shatterdomes and have fought relatively more Kaiju, Anchorage are the PPDC headquarters, but due to the low number of attacks their 'Respect', as in how many resources they get, is quite low).

I don't know about you guys, but I'm thinking that there's really no reason for anyone to use "Arrange to spy on one of the other seven Shatterdomes" ever. It goes completely against the WAITT philosophy that I think is essential to winning this Kaiju war.

• Pick Shaolin Rogue - Skeleton Memories Plot Chapter (I almost feel like we owe it to them after making them give up that goodwill kill.)
• Analyze slain Kaiju and create new training programs for Jaeger pilots, allowing more unorthodox tactics and maneuvers.
• Apply newly discovered metal alloys to Shaolin Rogue (Shaolin has shown that she still has a lot of fight and usefulness left in her, but her armor is a glaring weakpoint - lets' give this to her to help extend her usefulness)
• Continue research into the Artificial Breach Project
• Research Jaeger Upgrades; specifically focused on Crimson Typhoon's Plasma Caster with the intent of giving it a shorter charge time and/or allowing the arm to still be used for other things while the charge is happening.

(PS: Uh...what does spying on the other shatterdomes do anyways? I mean, if we get caught that's going to drop our respect to zero.)

See, I've worried about that, too, and I'd very much like it if that didn't turn out to be the case. I don't have any intention of not putting plans forward and making arguments for them, but if anyone sees me trying to push my plans as though there's no alternative and not being open to modifying my plans if other people put forward good ideas, I would very much like it if someone would call me out on my "Skippyness", for lack of a better term.

Well, it's pretty much what I would have done, especially given that none of the other Shatterdromes looks like they could readily afford to lose a Jaeger (even in exchange for Horizon). I probably would have posted something similar if I had posted before you.

Wait. Since the game is nominally about Crimson Typhoon, if we trade Crimson Typhoon, could/would we change to that shatterdome? Because that could, theoretically, be interesting.

I like the plan. Though I propose an alternative to raising the armor value.

We should research brain implants that would help increase the reaction time and learning rate.

I disagree with improving Rogue's armor. Their strength are agility, and we should optimize them for that.

You have any ideas specifically in mind?

EDIT: And for the record, I am absolutely not backing "Brain implants" that would no doubt require dangerous surgery to put them in peoples brains, especially when we have no idea how they would interact with the Drift.

An overclock software to maximize performance of agility and strength would be possible, we could activate and deactivate whenever we need to, and upload it to all the units.

I'm not sure I follow. Can you clarify?

Sorry, talked with an expert. Overclocking would increase the speed of the motors. And would increase our agility.

It would also potentially damage the motors, too... If we're careful, though, we can avoid the "price" part of Power at a Price.

And considering that it would help all of our Jaegers and not just Crimson Typhoon, I support the overclocking hardware drivers over the plasma caster research.

• Research Jaeger Upgrades: Jaeger Overlock Program - Research into an upgrade that allows a Jaeger to increase its speed, agility, and reaction time, at least for temporary bursts (but long-term uses would be good, too). Research should be primarily focused for Shaolin Rogue, but ability to harness and adapt the program for other Jaegers should be looked into as well.
