I really like them, it is just that the show doesn't have the time to properly develop them.
I am choosing the lesser evil here, so to speak.
If the show had been a couple episodes longer then I would have no issue with it.

It's been awhile, but I just wanted to mention that the final volume is out in Japan now.
Also, /a/ has been translating the manga for awhile. The final chapters are about Masayoshi dreaming he's in the Edo era and meets everyones ancestors. Also Goto's is a ninja. The real twist is that it's actually a dream and it's all Masayoshi's subconscious showing us how he views the other characters.
