Right now, I'm reading Grant Morrison's Animal Man. I've read metafiction before (some Jorge Luis Borges, some Miguel De Unamuno, Adaptation, Existen Z...), but never presented in such a compelling, makes-sense-in-universe way. It's freaking me out. It's blinding me with awesome, and it's scaring the crap out of me. And, well, it may take me some time, to assimilate and work through it, but I want to try my hand at writing some of that.

So, our Meta Fiction page does not actually list works that feature metafiction, and Metafiction Demanded This Index only features tropes that are meta-fictional, but not a list of works that have this as a cornerstone, and... *sweats*... I want to see more of that first, I wouldn't like to reinvent the wheel or anything. So, if anyone knows any examples, that would be nice.

Also, if we could discuss cool stuff to do with metafiction, that would be nice too.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

1/0 (here) continues to be my absolute favorite webcomic. It's about 1,000 4-panel strips (exactly 1,000 if you don't count April Fools' strips), and can easily be read in an afternoon.
