That would explain why this episode felt so padded.
Episode 23:
- Well, that's not a good way to start the morning.
- Hey, Vatler. Looks like you're gonna behave yourself this ti- Oh, there's his Blood Knight smile.
- Signs of time-travel hijinks: Blue-eyed Yukina, vampiric urges and abilities, another Aurum, Yaze having a hair crisis, Doc Asagi, Aunt Nagisa, and Natsuki's just so adorable-*bop*
- Natsuki has mastered the technique, Double Fan Bonk! Gods help the two fools who dare to add chan to her name...
- Wait...she followed that Shadow Dragon to the past... Curses, are you another form of Grima!?
- Ah... Yukina's...broken... in more ways than one.
Oh time travel plots, why can't you ever be not stupid?
Seriously Kojou how dense can you be? First you can't answer a simple question correctly then it takes you great pains to partially see through the "disguise". I mean show was barely trying to hide it.
Sorry Yukina jr. you can't call someone unreasonable for not wanting to listen to you, when the first thing you do is attack them. I mean, what was even the point? Is that some kind of teenage rebellion thing?
Yeah the "leaving" plot just doesn't work here, especially since with one episode left we know it's going to get warped up very quickly.
This is kinda weak way to end a series, but I guess the nature of the adaptation doesn't allow for a grand finale.
What else could it possibly be? The only thing unusual about this is that they're both teenagers.
I'd have to mention that pretty half of the episode is anime original stuff. The story has no dragon, no dreams, no Yukina leaving. It goes like this:
Yukina confronts Reina.
Yukina whacks her with the spear.
Reina goes back to the future.
Yukina and Kojou wonder if it was their future daughter. They blush a lot.
End.
Honestly, you think they could have stuck these two episodes before the previous arc and used that for the finale? Might have made more sense.
Wiseman, in my opinion, would have made a crappy finale villain.
He may have seemed less crappy if he'd been given a tad more space to develop himself.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."This arc could (and perhaps should) have been done as an OVA instead of taking up two episodes in the main series.
On the other hand, I prefer that they end it this way rather than doing what Campione! did and try cutting everything down in order to reach a convenient stopping point in the novels.
True. the problem is that wiseman pretty much has to be last bc he uses all the familiars and pretty much chameo's every character up till then.
This arc seems kinda silly, but I don't hate it. The Himeraginator has the potential to be amusing at least.
Episode 24. In which Sayaka is reasonable.
No intro.
So, how much is it Asagi's job to make sure the island doesn't collapse? And are her eyes red because of the screens, or something else?
Okay, this one I'd agree with Sayaka's assessment of the situation. He probably did think what she thought he did.
It's a little rare that both of them think it's practical for them to part like that, even if they might not think it for the same reasons. Usually it's a one-sided thing. Which I'm guessing going to be solve on each side separately.
And then she's being even more reasonable. Almost kinda strange, coming from the usually least reasonable person in the series, but it's a good that she gets to redeem herself a little.
I agree with Asagi. Horrible timing. Well, can't resolve things now, can we?
It's kind of obvious when her arm goes black with those red magitech-veiny things, and then just after, the same happens to Kojou.
So he's going to show that he's actually powerful, despite everything previously shown? Well, perhaps not that surprising.
So, when he holds those up, where'd the rest of the clothes go? But really, do they have to include those stupid moments? They're not funny, they don't add anything, and they're just tired old clichés for the sake of having those tired old clichés.
Oh, hey, they figured it out. Just refused to believe it. Also explicitly confirmed, in case someone had missed it.
Now I want to know, who's Moegi's dad?
Check out my fanfiction! So, episode 24:
I have to say the whole leaving plotline wasn't very good. It was the typical "It's better if we separate, wait no it won't, let's stay together" thing. Well, it was anime original thing so I shouldn't expect too much.
Sayaka was awesome this episode. I cheered when she talked some sense into Kojou.
So it broke because Yukina grew too strong. Couldn't tell her that yesterday Reina?
Good thing Asagi got interrupted. Such hasty confessions in the middle of a crisis usually spell death.
Okay, Yukina mistaking a medical check-up appointment for withdraw order really strained by suspension of disbelief. How vague are those orders?
I know lot's of people don't like Yukina catchphrase but really, it's Kojou fault. He should stop saying that it's his fight when he didn't win a single important battle without Yukina's help.
Okay, mother-daughter double spear was awesome.
Yeah, thy finally realized who she was... not that they'll soon admit it.
So in the future Kojou and Yukina are like the King and Queen of an actual Empire? Nice.
Also, There was this guy with knock-off spear. I wonder what's his deal.
Wait, is Moegi's mother Asagi?

More of a Phrase Catcher than Catchphrase, in my opinion. He should flip it around, and see if she catches on.
And yes, Asagi certainly seems to be Moegi's mom. Which is a name reminiscent of Mogwai...
Check out my fanfiction! So, the official couple of the series will rule the whole island and make it bigger? I am TOTALLY, totally ok with this.
Same as usual.... Wing it.Well, it nice that Asagi made a life for herself and even stayed friends with Kojou and Yukina after they got together. I can imagine that with the island getting bigger her help is invaluable.
Actually, it's greatly implied that Future!Kojou has a full-blown Harem. Progenitors are supposed to do that, apparently.
- "From here on, this is our fight!"
- "No, Senpai. It's our- wait, uh. Damnit, you did that on purpose, didn't you?"

"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night.",
Moegi's a vampire as well. Given the way vampirism seems to work in the novels (and the associated political consequences) the paternal possibilities are slim indeed.
Don't know if anybody else caught the "Princess of Cain" line. (Non-anime spoiler) If you were looking for something that made Asagi special in-series, that would be it.
That's not telling us much. The question isn't who Moegi's father is, but who her mother is. And whether two sisters have other siblings as well.
It was explicitly stated that Moegi's mother was Doc.
ie, Asagi.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Kind of felt like they were throwing in stuff just for continuity references. Got to be a bit much however.
I actually didn't find her mistake THAT bad. I mean, this is an organization that assigned her as an "observer" as code for Go hook up with this guy and become empress of the future, ok? They do seem like the types to give really vague orders.
Ok, they tried SO hard to tell you Reina origin and everyone was so dense about not getting it actually became kinda funny again. And then they tell you.
I guess Kouju has to die to become a full vampire or something? Only thing I can think of I guess.
"No, Senpai. It's our—wait, uh. Damnit, you did that one purpose, didn't you?"
I would be surprised if Moegi's father were anyone else. And I might be judging that based on a hint I forgot but noticed at the time.
It also makes sense that they'd be supposed to have a harem. They have special blood, so spreading it around is probably a good idea, unless you just want to eradicate them.
I think her mistake wasn't that bad either. It was explicitly while she was concerned about her future there, having destroyed her spear, and thinking about the dream where he left her, so it was what she expected. The bad part is that it's a tired and overused plot to squeeze out some extra drama from the fear of a permanent change.

Check out my fanfiction! Not so bad as far as anime only final episodes go, that bite scene was surprisingly... passionate.
Yeah, it was really lively.
Reina looked as if she caught her parents in the middle of sex. Even Valter looked embarassed.
Being fair, most of Not-Himeragi's appearance was created by the writers for the anime. In the side-story, the only noteworthy difference was in the bust and personality.
Likewise, the not-not-himeragi events were anime-original: The sidestory isn't long enough to fill out two episodes.
