So what exactly does this deal they've reached do? And is it really a deal, or did the Republicans just surrender and let the Dems have everything they want like the spineless c***ts they futilely attempt to deny they are?

EDIT: Yeah, pretty much. No surprise there. Fuck you, Reds.

A proper protest is to build political support. Rally the citizens to the cause you want to propose, so they can let Congress know that they're not happy with the current laws.

And that's what they did by voting in a Republican House. Beyond that, how do you proceed when the other side is hellbent on foisting this stupidity upon you while remaining immune to its effects themselves? That's what Democrats are doing with Obamacare. The young, poor and uninsured like me get screwed while the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid remain in their Cadillac plans completely segregated from the rest of us.

It's disgusting how autocratic and aristocratic that side is acting over the issue.

No, building political support is getting connected with citizens to promote the needs.

Let's just ask the public what it prioritizes more: adjusting funding for PPACA, or keeping the federal government running.

Given that the public reaction to the slimdown had a really high amount of apathy, we cannot say for certain funding the government.

building political support is getting connected with citizens to promote the needs.

And how do you do that when they voted you in to vote and make laws? Getting "support" from citizens comes across as nothing more than political grandstanding and campaigning these days. They voted you in, so you make some laws, protest existing laws, try to make changes and vote on it yourself. If they don't approve, they'll vote you out.
