You ever get the feeling? There is someone out there with similar experiences to you. Damaged and empowered much like yourself, in the ways of writing, developed a similar style, with similar ideas, but you want the story told your own way and you're actually competing with them.

I mean, the world's population is in billions, so who says you're the only one of your kind?

You posting while high?

It's a cool idea. I quite like the notion of someone that I can bounce ideas off who understands them in the same way I do.

I write stuff sometimes. I also sometimes make youtube videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/majormarks

I don't consider the idea of a rival, because the chances of running into someone with the same skill level, and desire to write the same things I do are next to nothing, so no one to compete with.

The only time this has ever happened was with a friend of mine, where we both ended up running a tabletop with a similar topic (mostly because it's a pre-established universe). But even that is more of a note of amusement, where we both steal our head canons and explanations, because we both look at the fictional world in a similar way.

In my more paranoid moments I've daydreamed finding a book that's pretty much my story, only written with an exquisite skill I could never hope to achieve.

Part of me would feel jealous of this hypothetical rival, but another part would be super interested how the story ended up turning out.
