Star Wars: Omerta

As Drewbacca starts to move the crate into place, the hail of fire continues-several shots come dangerously close, one scoring a long burn along his shoulder, adding burned Wookie to the scent of ionized air that's started to fill the cargo bay. At the door of the airlock, CH 3-RN 0's throw buys them a moment, knocking down advancing boarders. More fire comes from at the airlock at him in response, boiling off armor, cratering his plating-he can see more subsystems go offline, his eyesight dimming from the loss of power. Curses fill the air, a dozen different languages from the airlock, followed barked orders in Huttese from the blond human in the airlock.

"Don't let up fire, idiots! Advance-I'll cover."

He pops out cover, taking careful aim, sending a shower of molten metal down on Mys, burning holes in her uniform and shoulder. Her response manages to force him back down, but the damage is done-as Drewbacca moves the box in place, it stops, something heavy on the other side blocking it. A twi-lek clambers on top of the crate, taking aim at him, quickly followed by another of the boarders.

Tiberius notices the Twi'lek climbing on top of the crate and takes aim, firing a few tight shots at it.

Mys looks at the situation and then slowly got a small thermal detonator out of her jacket.

Drew ducked down to avoid having a direct line between him and the twi'lek. Then he rammed himself into the crate - hard - hoping to knock over him and whoever else was on or near the crate.

Relian groans as he hears blaster fire putting a hand where his own is strapped to his leg. "Why is always a blaster fight? Why can it never be a friendly game of Pazzak?"

Mys took a measuring look, armed it and then threw the detonator right through the airlock.

Tiberus's shots find their mark in the Twi-Lek-it goes down with a smoking hold in it's chest. As Drewbacca slams into the crate, Mys's thermal detonator flies into the airlock. His next push drives the crate forward, blocking the airlock door completely.

There's a momentary pause, then a muffled thump, and the crate jolts against Drewbacca hard, a red flash coming from the gaps where it's not quite flush with the airlock. The metal crumples, deforming outward from the blast.

A hiss of escaping air comes from the airlock, the smoke that has filled the cargo hold flowing through the gaps between the now shattered crate and the door.

"I think that's our signal to undock and get our butts away from here, Captain."

"I hear you."

Tiberius started racing back towards the cockpit.

Mys leaned against another crate, looking at the burns on her arm. Thinking that she was not used up there anyway, she moved towards the sickbay.

"Rggrhhhhhhrhghhhh!" Drew said as he was flung through the air, his torso and arm eventually slamming into a different crate to kill his momentum.

He turned around, hid most of his body behind a crate, and kept an eye out on the airlock in case any more visitors came through.

"Think that's all of them? That ship looks like it could have some nice stuff."

Mys points to the smoke being pulled through the cracks between airlock and crate. "Take a deep breath and take a look?" before moving through the door.

Myrissa peered up over the lip of the crate she was hiding behind before straightening up and running over to the medbay, waiting for the wounded members of the crew.

Tiberius arrives in the cockpit just in time to see other ship falling back, it's guns locking onto the Erewhon Noir. The boarding passage hangs limply off the side, shattered, and more than a half-dozen scorched corpses form an expanding cloud between the ships. As he begins to power up the ship, the first volley of fire comes from the Gunship. The Noir shakes, the internal gravity struggling to compensate, lights flickering on and off, but their ships armor holds.

In the ship's cargo hold, air still drains out from behind the box. As the smoke clears, they can see, in the gaps in the crate, that the airlock is heavily damaged, both doors mostly off their track, warped hunks of metal that are not going to form a tight seal. Until then, they're leaking air at a quick pace. Three bodies are visible blocking the door, to add to the mess, in various states of damage. One's recognizable as the man giving orders.

Mys and Myrissa retreat to the medical bay. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, the pain's started to catch up-she's got a deep burn along her shoulder, and more on her back from falling metal.

First, Drew would check every body was dead, and would kick in the head just to be sure. If that proved to be the case, he'd get to work on welding up the airlock.

Myrissa reaches into her medkit and takes out a ultrasonic scrubber and a spray bandage, before setting them on the counter and picking up a stethoscope from her kit

"Bite down on this, because this is gonna sting."

She has Mys remove her shirt and lay down on the operating table before walking back over to the counter and bringing the scrubber and the spray bandage over, scrubbing the affected areas clean and using the spray bandage to seal the wounds off.

Tiberius flicked on the internal comm system.

"This is going to get shaky. Hang on."

He flicked off the comm again and groaned. "This job better be worth it," he said, before he tried to dodge what was probably going to be the inevitable second volley while trying to get the ship out of distance of the hostile weapons.

Mys strips out of her jacket and shirt and then proceeds to bit on the stethoscope, holding tight to the med berth in anticipation of the maneuvers.

Myrissa finishes cleaning and bandaging the wounds before tapping Mys on the shoulder.

"I'm done."

She walked over to the sink and washed both her hands and the equipment thoroughly, before calling to Mys over her shoulder while sterilizing the equipment that she used.

"They should be fine after a few days. Just try not to aggravate them too much."

CH3-RN0 stood back up to his full height and stomped over to where Drewbacca was. The droid made the assumption that the wookie would start attempting to weld the leaks shut making future proper repairs more difficult.

"Don't bother. Just seal off the cargo hold. I'll stay put and clear out the debris and make sure nothing falls out. Then you can repair both me and the ship."

All of the bodies in the hold are very, very dead. The airlock's in bad shape-it might be possible to weld it, but it may be faster just to seal off the cargo hold. They've got a chance of losing some of the more sensitive cargo that way, however.

The next volley comes quickly, and the Erewhon Noir narrowly evades it, a cluster of laser bolts scything through space near the ship. It looks like they're aiming to kill, this time. The gunship has fired up it's engines, and started pursuit. Ahead of the craft is Port Chiaroscuro-it's unlikely the pirates will fight close to the Port. They could also attempt to lose them in the asteroid belt.

Mys came back into the cockpit, careful not to overemphasize her shoulder. Looking at the situation she groaned.

"Not the asteroid belt. Not again."

Tiberius grit his teeth. Considering the hospitality they'd received so far, the astroid belt sounded like an extremely attractive option.

"We're going into the asteroid belt. Buckle up."

"I want Guns on this ship. Let it be for the record that I want the ability to fire back in the future." Mys answered and sat down into a free chair.

"On our budget, we might be able to get a pair of blasters that we can strap on the outside. Will that do?"
